Nothing more to see here, folks.

Please refer to the 5,592 previous posts for every possible framing of the outrage and concern and the associated replies.

Next topic please.

Thank you very much.

1. Sorry, didn't realize you'd taken Skinner's job
Could you please post a list of your new approved topics and pin it at the top of the forum? That would make it a lot easier for us all, Dear Leader.

3. It's like a damn gaggle of 6-year-olds in here.
Any time anybody tries to make a rational point and act like an adult, somebody else pops up shouting "Who made YOU boss?"

Folks don't always check prior posts before posting, so we'll see.

Thanks for the props!

5. There Are A Lot Of Other Important Issues That DUers Ignore
We all have debated numerous issues such as the polls, Cindy McCain's come hither look, patriotism, DUers who annually state that they hate voting for Democratic nominees. Remember Gore and Nader? Anyways, my question is this: If each candidate's proposals are generally carried out, how are you affected? Is it possible that you, personally, would be better off under a McCain Presidency because you work in the oil industry? Is it possible that you would actually be worse off under an Obama presidency because you are a pro baseball player, and the repeal of the Bush tax cuts will sting? Does this election actually make a difference to you assuming that each candidates proposals are generally carried out?

The fact of the matter is that while it is unlikely that all of either candidate's programs will get implemented, a lot of them will be, as we discovered with Bush. So, here are some of the common issues with a link to a summary of their proposals:

1. Tax Policy?

2. Health Care?

7. Curious
Everyone here tonight beating Obama over the head about his vote today, I wonder if they listened to Feingold on Countdown tonight?

I mean, I see Russ being praised for voting nay and all so he must be someone people listen to. So, did you hear him say tonight that he trusts Obama will do the right thing with FISA once he's in office?

He doesn't seem overly concerned with his vote so, to all those singing RF's praises tonight, is that good enough for you or will there still be a need to continue to slam Obama?

Couold it be fixed? Perhaps, but actios speak louder than words... and what I have to go by right now are actions

13. No spin at all
He said he knows Obama will do the right thing. I heard him and there are other posts on this board saying the same thing.

I don't need to spin. I didn't like the vote either. But like Feingold, I will believe in Obama and trust that he will do the right thing.

34. He also said Obama voted the wrong way and that this was a "black mark" on our history
And as far as hoping a President Obama would fix it, what else could he say? It's a pipe dream at best, but that's really all civil libertarians have left.

22. I'd have used a tongue in cheek smiley, if there was one.
Only a fool would expect any significant number to heed the "move on" suggestion.

It's interesting to gauge the group mood, however, and to see who agrees and who doesn't.

The number of recommendations is a further indicator of support for a notion, or lack thereof.

it has been... what... 10 hours? that's more than enough time for tens of thousands of people to work over a big issue.

Look - I know you don't LIKE these discussions, but pretending that "it's over" after a few hours is just nonsensical.

Reminds me of my college days in a whacky school of architecture and art.
The two departments "rubbed off" on each other and we got similar results, often.

29. You ask for too much. People will talk about whatever they want, whenever they want it.
The only caveat being the rules of the forum. Other than that, people will continue to talk about whatever they wish. It has been so since day one. I wish I had the energy to do what you do as far as trying to push people to talk about something else, but I realized pretty quickly that's about as useful as spitting into the wind of a hurricane.

AC-TING!!

There will be DUers who will blab about FISA every day for next four months. Do the math, and you'll conclude that a certain percentage of active posters are mentally ill. You can argue with them, but it's a fool's game. You might as well argue with a bag or rocks, or some other inanimate object or objects.
