What confuses most about FISA
Edited on Thu Jul-10-08 07:12 AM by barack the house
Yes, we understand it is upsetting but for 7 years Democratic voters have been trying to hold the GOP accountable. Now when it's most needed for us to do that we are placing the highest scrutiny on our own canidates. Now yes FISA is an issue but considering the outrages that went before this the reaction has been a little stunning. Certainly there is a lot of work to do with our candidates as a whole but the work to be done right now is get them in office then fire awaylet hell hath no fury, but if we dont' hell will have fury on us. The world is counting on America to elect Democrats if we damage their chances a vote on a FISA bill won't really explain it to them.

4. Democratic voters aren't holding anyone accountable,
We're lost at sea with no hope of being rescued now that our leader has endorsed Bush policies.

5. Yes it does
But could you explain how Democratic voters have the ability to hold the GOP accountable?

I was under the impression that the Democratic voters elected representatives to do that?

Maybe we're wasting time and money actually expecting those we elected to hold the GOP accountable, and we should either try to do it ourselves, which would be about as effective as using s**t to keep away flies, or quit sending the same incompetent, useless, clowns back to Congress and bitching when they won't do the job.

I pick the second choice!

6. Those Dem leaders like Nancy and Harry?
Ouch my head. If I had every minute back that I have spent contacting our Dem reps I could paint my entire house. There comes a time when we children have to realize that 'daddy ain't comin' home'.

10. My point is that we work to elect people like Pelosi and Reid
and then they don't stand up for the Dem values that put them in Office. Citizens can work their butts off for candidates but when they take office all bets are off as to the support that we will get from them. Some of our most powerful members commit the biggest offenses. Go figure.

7. PS......
Why did the Dems bring the FISA issue to vote at this time? That is what I want to know.

14. FISA expires?
There was no other way to get back to the FISA law we had before 911 other than bastardizing the law? Either way ,I am happy that you are comfy with it. I wish that I could rationalize my fears like that.

8. Exactly, people seem to think they had "rights" before FISA---thank you PAA for that.
What we need to worry about is when we take office and put these things in focus.
