Let’s be clear, when people are struggling with the rising costs of everything from gas to groceries, when we’ve lost 438,000 jobs over the past six months, when typical families have seen their incomes fall nearly $1,000 since 2000, this economic downturn isn’t in our heads. It isn’t whining to ask for more than just psychological relief.

And I think it’s time we had a President who doesn’t deny our problems – or blame the American people for them – but takes responsibility and provides the leadership to solve them. That’s the kind of President I will be.

For God's sake! People are sleeping in their cars!!!! Or maybe they just THINK they're sleeping in a car and it's all in their heads? Maybe they imagined that they lost their job, house, savings. On the evening news the other night, a couple was interviewed who had fallen on hard times. The man had worked as a designer in the automotive industry and was laid off. He and his wife now have a paper route and the husband also works evenings at a grocery store. I'm sure they brought all of this on themselves.

This reminds me of the show Oprah had on yesterday with Suzie Orman - I think that is her name - the so called guru of money management. Oprah allowed her show to showcase people who were living way over their budgets but to me it looked like she was trying to say all of us who are in trouble were doing the same thing! BS!@! I haven't been out to dinner with my husband for 2 months now! We haven't shopped for anything but necessities for months! We haven't planned a vacation for 3 years now! We are going to move from our dream home that we both worked damn hard to get because we cannot afford the taxes and insurance any more here in Florida. Both my husband and I could not find a job that paid over $9.00 an hour for 2 years now and I have a MBA! So don't tell me Philly boy that I am whining! Whine this!
