Even Feingold, the Senator that is championed for his resistance to the FISA bill said on an interview on Countdown last night that the single most important thing we can do now is get Obama Elected so the damage to this country, the Constitution and its people can be undone.

If you are such a blind follower of Feingold on FISA, it's time to shut-up and get busy helping Obama to be Elected President.

Actually, humor makes one hell of a weapon. Granted, I'm a little bit rusty since I stopped contributing on the british newsgroups. But if it weren't for Jon Stewart's satire, we may never have gotten the upper hand over the right-wingers. We were far too literal, and far too serious, and too analytical. They just stopped listening anyways. Not until Stewart started using humor against them, did they start to get uncomfortable because they no longer had the control over us that they wanted. Humor healed us, and without realizing it, the fact that they were not affecting us, seemed to really piss them off. Much like you seem to be.

I'd like to see an end to threads posted with the intent of telling others what they should and should not post. If the forum doesn't like a thread they will surely make that clear. As to those posters brave enough to post an unpopular stance and opinion, they are entitled to do so until and unless the admins make a rule against it. So far as I can see most of those who are upset about FISA are still supporting the dem candidate so why shouldn't they be allowed to advocate for what is in all our best interests, which is a government that isn't allowed to sneak around and spy on their citizens.

I disagree with his vote and I think it was wrong. I still love the guy as much ever and I know he'll make a great president, but I absolutely and unconditionally reject your attempt to silence and stifle conscientious dissent.

I can see where you might point out some posters to be over reacting and or even disruptive, but by and large, I see legitimate and sincere criticism of actions that OFFEND us. I find posts like yours telling these people to shut up and mold their conscience around the election to be what's even more offensive than the vents, rants, and occasional drama. Keep telling people to shut up and keep dismissing their reluctance to tolerate any more assaults on the tattered remains of what used to be our constitution. It didn't work today, yesterday, the day before, or the day before that, but if you try again tomorrow, that just might be the day that your dismissive and disrespectful attitude just might magically influence everyone over to your way of thinking.
