Tweety has been good this week. I know, I know. He'll flip on us. But, he was great tonight.

He covered the Phil Gramm mess well. Spent a ton of time on it. Got Pat Buchanan to admit Obama handled it the way his hero Reagan would have. He also went after McCain on viagra question. Played most of the tape. Did a long segment on Jesse Jackson's comment but fairly well and almost sensitively. He chided Obama over the fundraiser but with a smile on his face. Not trashing O at all.

He's been pretty good all week. In case you dare come back.

And Rachael? Swoon. Makes me wanna "go gay". (Joke...damnit.)

1. Pretty much everyone has had a negative opinion on it
This hasn't been a good week for Obama, mostly because of FISA.

4. The only place I'm hearing about Obama and FISA is here
on the internet (and especially here) and on Olbermann. I didn't see anything today on the news. (Yes, I know, most of the posts here are on about Obama and FISA. Oh, yeah, and FISA and Obama.)

According to the pundit shows I watch, Obama is having a great week (one Doctor Phil is playing well on all shows) but as importantly (or more importantly) McCain is having a bad week. Especially today.

2. as a poster on the Huffington Post put it...
"Chris Matthews is an annoying sexist boob, but even a broken clock is right two times a day...tonight was one of those times" (in reference to his coverage of McCain's Iraq flip flop regarding timelines)

It was also funny how he kept bringing it up later. Talking heads were discussing the Pew research poll and one woman mentioned the milk and gas prices, and after she was speaking, Chris said "It's all in your head, didn't you hear? Those high milk and gas prices...Phil Gramm says that they are all in your mind!"

I'm sure AC360 won't be very focused on it tonight though, haha.

6. 360 actually led with the two McCain stories.
Cambell Brown even moderated and she did a pretty good job of showing McCain and Graham up.
It was a nice change for CNN.

5. Hartmann said today that Tweety said no one should talk
Edited on Thu Jul-10-08 09:44 PM by TOJ
about McSame behaving like an end-stage Alzheimers patient. Hartmann seems to think Matthews is part of the McSame campaign team. Are you watching the same program?

Edit: Also said that repeal of the 4th amendment "gives the government the tools they need to fight Al Qaeda". Sounds pretty much like a fascist to me

8. You are right Hamlette ....

A couple of years ago.. or maybe it was during the Kerry/Edwards campaign..

Anyway, we (a lot of us DU'ers) used to say that Tweety had a split personality. We talked about never knowing which Tweety would show up ----->

I still remember seeing made-up schedules on here that looked like:

Monday.......Bad Tweety
Tuesday......Good Tweety
Wednesday....Bad Tweety
Thursday.....Good Tweety
Friday.......Bad Tweety

So no Hamlette, it's not just you ~~~~~~ .....He's all over the map!!!
