Is the Democratic Congress starting to fear an Obama Presidency?...
Edited on Thu Jul-10-08 09:37 PM by ClassWarrior
Are they afraid the Congress is going to flip? After all, the American people do prefer their elected branches of government divided. AND Congress' approval ratings dipped into the single digits this week for the first time EVER.

ANDDD... and this is key... suddenly there seems to be a growing appetite in the House for IMPEACHMENT -- when just a week ago Rep. Conyers was obfuscating about it yet again...

Of course, this would be the TOTALLY right strategy to win. I mean, the crimes of a Rape-Publican Administration splashed across the Internets for all to see. How could that be at all bad for Dems? In fact, could the strategically astute Obama campaign itself be nudging this along behind the scenes?...

Or am I just sporting a stylish new chapeau? :tinfoilhat:

1. If this election becomes a referendum on Bush, we win.

I think Obama knows this.

That's why Impeachment needs to happen.

Wow. What a thought; they were waiting for this moment in time? Hmmm. That will take some convincing.

If this plays out, I would be truly impressed, amazed, agog.

6. Congress will be comfortably in Democratic hands for the foreseeable future
We already control the House and will pick up between 15-30 more seats on a Republican gerrymandered map. If we retain enough state legislatures and governorships we can re-draw the map after 2010 and give ourselves a majority that will last at least a decade if not more.

In the Senate we will gain 5-7 seats this election. The GOP could theoretically take back the Senate in 2010 but it would be by a slim margin and the cards would literally all have to go their way in terms of recruitment, retirements, and incumbent President unpopularity. I will probably do the math for 2012 senate races tomorrow but I'm too tired right now.

9. Senate
If the Dems. start doing their job, there is no way for the rethugs to win in 2010.

8. Maybe, but only because they represent the same corporate interests as the GOP
The corporate masters of our government are scared to death of having a popular President representing the people for the first time since JFK.
