My Local News station went around yesterday to gas stations, asked people if they were "whiners" |
|
Haha,. I was really worried about this one because they didn't mention the Gramm story at all yesterday on the local news station (an ABC affiliate that I watch). They have been pretty pro-Hillary and I think have sort of slanted towards McCain in the GE. But they just ran the news story on Gramm and did a pretty good job...showed people paying their bills, shopping for goceries, filling up gas, and the voiceover said "Apparently, it's ALL IN YOUR HEAD!" Then they went to gas stations and asked people if they considered themselves "whiners". All of the interviewees cracked up and said "Yeah...I don't think that it's all a figment of my imagination, unfortunately..."
Good going, McCain campaign! Keeping stepping in poop.

1. My local news (also an ABC affiliate) was all over the story this morning |
|
I was glad to see them showing the shocked citizenry the footage, and watching them react to the news that it's "all in their heads".

Top story and they could barely keep their disdain for Graham out of their voices. (WABC-New York)

3. yeah, they were not too kind about the McCain "distancing" |
|
They showed a clip of McCain saying that no one is more qualified than Phil Gramm to talk about the economy, and at the end of the segment, they said that it has been said that McCain had been considering Gramm as secretary of treasury.

7. Gramm may not speak for McSame but he writes for him. |
|
McSame has a guy writing his economic plans who believes hyperinflation of gas prices, rising cost of food and electricity, the highest rate of foreclosures since the great depression, bank closings, stock market dropping and the 40% loss in value of the US dollar is all imaginary.
What kind of plan could this man write? "Let's all clap our hands and the market will magically go back up. All you have to do is believe."

5. haha. Good Morning America was PISSED that they had to cover the Gramm story. |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-11-08 06:19 AM by ErinBerin84
The person introducing it prefaced the clips with "Of course, that's not "exactly" what Phil Gramm meant " and ended the segment with "this is a problem that BOTH campaigns have had...advisors speaking out of turn".
And then, to do damage control, they did a complete hit job on Obama and Iraq..."WILL OBAMA'S 'IMMEDIATE' withdrawal (you know its a warning when they use that term) plan IN IRAQ ACTUALLY WORK" , interviewed a "commander" saying that it was really dangerous and impossible! And now John Edwards is on, and the interviewer just said "Does the Obama campaign have 'different' intelligence than the rest of us do?" He's being a total asshole to Edwards right now. On to the Gramm issue, the interviewer actually had the guts to say "Now...should McCain be responsible for what an advisor says, or is this some "negative" politicking going on". Edwards did a good job of repeatedly pointing out that McCain has been calling Gramm his "guru". They also asked at the end if he has submitted vetting material to Obama for VP, and he started laughing and said "Well, if I had, I wouldn't talk about that here!"

9. Oh, so it's back to "immediate withdrawal" again |
|
Weren't they calling him a flippity flopper because he cause had stated (as he has always stated) that he wanted a careful, gradual, 16-month withdrawal?

McCain steps in poop, the media will suddenly declare it the fashion, and even will lick his shoes to show how dogshit is actually delicious and nutritious ...
