Interesting. Jack Welch's minions are trying to cover Phil Gramm's tush today. |
|
Anyone been watching how often that obnoxious little creep, Cramer, is being trotted out today to tell us we are indeed whiners. That the economy is strong. Gramm's choice of words was the problem, apparently. Also, this is nothing like the 1970s or the 1930s. He actually said that we don't have lines for soup or food, but people are lining up for iPhones. We line up for products. He's also said that regulation is not needed in the banking industry. Freetrader freefall. All the talking heads are sucking up to him. I find it interesting that there is so much of this happy talk on a station owned by GE, which, if I recall correctly from a day or two ago, was having some problems with revenues.

2. I'm reminded of the 1992 campaign and the moment I realized GHWB had lost the voters |

There was a story about a new hotel (in, I think, Chicago) that was taking applications for employees. The hotel was needing to fill approximately 500 positions. Over 5000 people showed up.
In response, the news station played a sound bite of George H.W., vehemently declaring that the economy was perfectly fine! No crisis! None!
So, I say, keep bloviating, you rich bastards. Keep telling us it's all in our heads. Keep calling us whiners. Keep telling us everything is just dandy.

He's been a consistent guest all day...hmmm, msnbc, aren't you supposed to rotate your puppets a bit better? Plus first read is trying to make the case that McCain saying that social security is a discrace = "gaffe" that Obama made regarding "english only laws". What idiots.

4. Robber barons thought the economy was great in the 1800s. |
|
And it was, for them. Not so much, everybody else.
