When are we going to see these guys debate?
At this point Obama would eat him alive. And, it would allow Obama a chance to make the arguments that the media should be reporting.

Maybe I'm just itching to see something new in the campaign.

September 26, 2008: Presidential debate with domestic policy focus, University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS
October 2, 2008: Vice Presidential debate, Washington University, St. Louis, MO
October 7, 2008: Presidential debate in a town hall format, Belmont University, Nashville, TN
October 15, 2008: Presidential debate with foreign policy focus, Hofstra University, Hempstead, NY

These September and October dates were set in advance of the nomination process and are subject to change. Check back for the latest information.

4. I wish Obama would've taken up McCain on his offer for "joint townhalls" but with rules that McCain
would agree to. So far they keep saying Obama's avoiding him. I wish he would ASK for debates NOW.

6. I have a pet theory about this...
I think McCain hoped that by getting Obama to agree to a series of summer townhalls (a format in which he is competent), he would have an excuse to forgo all the fall debates (a format which showcases McCain's weaknesses) on the lame excuse that voters had enough opportunity to see the candidates together during the summer townhalls. Now, of course, he has no choice. :evilgrin:

11. I thought the same thing.
McCain's meltdown needs to be national. Not buried in some VFW hall out in Iowa.
