just post it to a web address and then type in the full address (including the .jpg file) and viola!

I opened your avatar in a new window (how to do that varies with browser and OS, try a right click with cursor over image, open or view image)

The URL for your avatar is: http:// upload.democraticunderground.com /discuss/images/avatars/obama2008a.gif (I've added spaces to keep it in text form)

Now I'm going to copy it without the spaces, you will only see the image, not the URL, when you preview your post and when it's posted.



You don't need a photobucket account unless you're uploading your own stuff.

Often I find a funny picture and just snag the URL and paste it as described above, and done below:



The URL was: http:// farm4.static.flickr.com/3118/2295395486_cabc28ea64.jpg (Again, the space used to display text)

That image must be online.

There are two ways to put an image online:

1) Upload the image on your own web hosting account

2) Upload the image to an online image hosting service such as photobucket or imageshack

11. Perfect! One piece of advice for future posts:

The picture you posted worked perfectly.

I've had the experience of posting pictures too large, and they become difficult to read because they require scrolling the screen left and right.

So, just avoid images larger than, say, 600 x 800 pixels or thereabouts.
