Dodd for VP?
What are your thoughts? Personally, I'd rather see Obama pick a governor or former governor.

4. I have heard talk that his foreign affairs experience would be an asset to Obama.
Not sure he would be my first choice, but I am not against it.

5. No.
I like Dodd, but the wingnuts will have a field-day with Obama the Elitist and Dodd the Elitist from Elitist New England. We need someone who will get through to Idiot America (Pollyanna moment!). I was hoping for Webb, but he seems to be out of the running. Maybe Schweitzer?

6. no, it's the Democrats who cower at any attack from the right
you don't see McCain worried about picking Romney. and interestinly, Schweitzer had said that if Romney won the Republican Nomination he would consider voting for him.

and McCain doesn't have to worry about being called an elitist even though him and his wife have a lot more than Obama. his daughter alone spends more than many people make in a year in just a month.

9. Of course McCain doesn't need to worry about selecting Romney.

What Corporate Media blowhard is going to call Romney 'elitist'? Or McCain, for that matter? I'm not sure why the Dems haven't figured out a way to shut down the right on this (non-)issue. Americans were brainwashed into thinking Dim Son was an average Joe, despite his pedigree. Kerry, on the other hand, was crucified for marrying in to big money. I just want a VP candidate they can't easily brand as 'elitist' -- they're doing that enough with Obama. (I briefly tuned in to Hardball this evening and they were discussing beer v. wine for Obama -- my head almost exploded.)

Again, I like Dodd, but as soon as much of the country hears 'New England,' the 'godless, gun-stealing, abortion-loving liberal East Coast' brainwashing kicks in. I'm not saying we shouldn't have candidates from New England (hell, I'm still clinging to Dean), but for this election, I don't think Dodd is the best choice. We need a dynamic someone to steal both McCain's military and (perceived) foreign policy thunder.

Do you have a link for the Schweitzer quote re Romney? I hadn't heard that.

12. i'm not talking about the candidates
i'm talking about the candidate supporters or those who should be supporting and defending the candidate but get scared at any attack from the right.

of course the right wing will attack. our job is to defend the nominee.

8. CT has a Republican governor. We would lose one seat in the Senate.

10. There's also the Countrywide scandal...
besides that, I think Dodd could be a good choice, but that would give McCain a new and legitimate line of attack, and it would bring the Rezko thing back.
