Hello, My Friends - I'm John McCain
Edited on Fri Jul-11-08 09:28 PM by NanceGreggs
My name is John McCain, and I’m told I am a candidate for the presidency of the United States.

Even though I don’t think it’s any of the voters’ business, let me tell you a little bit about myself.

As you undoubtedly know, I spent years as a POW – which immediately gives me Official American Hero® status, and makes me uniquely qualified to opine on everything from domestic concerns to foreign affairs.

I believe in Family Values. That’s why I dumped my first wife when she was disfigured in an accident, and married an heiress whose family was much more financially valuable.

My children also know my estimation of their worth. When I ran in 2000 and members of my own party spread vicious rumors about my daughter’s legitimacy and the circumstances of her birth, I embraced the very people who slandered her when it became politically advantageous to do so.

In other words, my family understands the rigors of campaigning, and can withstand the slurs that will inevitably be hurled at them, knowing that I can’t be bothered to defend them. I can assure you that I will bring this same self-serving attitude to the presidency when it comes to defending our nation.

I have been soundly criticized for not knowing the difference between Sunni and Shia, or the price of gas. Apparently my opponents believe that the presidency should be determined by a round of Trivial Pursuit, rather than a clear and cogent knowledge of what’s really important when one is ruining a country.

This also holds true for those who point to my inability to recall what I voted for and when, as though a sound memory in connection with positions taken on important issues is somehow connected to being of sound mind.

My position on the war on Iraq is unequivocal. The resounding successes we have achieved thus far are bound to ensure total victory within the next hundred years or so – or a billion more casualties, if you want to count in lives rather than years.

I have been to Baghdad, my friends, and I have walked through the marketplaces – in the same safety and comfort that any Iraqi citizen, surrounded by military personnel and clad in body-armor, enjoys.

I have been taken to task by my critics because I’ve freely admitted that although our crumbling economy is the number one issue with voters, I don’t understand how it works. It’s this kind of nit-picking that undermines my vision of a nation that will become economically strong again by … (teleprompter glitch – Mr. McCain will get back to you shortly).

There’s been a lot of talk from the other side about the debt our country currently finds itself in. Let me assure you, my friends, that as a Republican, I am a member of the party of fiscal responsibility. That is not just political rhetoric; it is an honest-to-God slogan.

There have been repeated cries from the left (aka tree-huggin’ hippy commies) about the fact that the day-to-day running of our country is being financed by putting everything on the nation’s credit card. My friends, my entire household is run on credit cards, and it has yet to become a problem for my multi-millionairess wife and myself. Where is it written that the country cannot follow our exemplary lead?

I have been criticized for my failure to advocate meaningful assistance to our veterans. As an Official American War Hero®, I refuse to acknowledge such accusations – but will allow my lapel flag-pin and my bumper-stickers to speak for themselves.

Though often disparaged by the wimps who continue to plague us, my position on healthcare is based on sound advice from lobbyists in the insurance and pharmaceutical industries, along with plain ol’ common sense.

By making healthcare insurance unaffordable, I am encouraging all Americans to live a healthier lifestyle rather than face the economic ruin caused by sickness and disease. Aside from the whiners who become fatally ill through no fault of their own, my friends, this is a policy that will serve the majority of citizens well.

My opponent in this race, Barack HUSSEIN Obama, is obviously hoping to nudge me into exploding in anger and frustration, no doubt having heard of my legendary hair-trigger temper. Again I assure you, my friends, that I know how to keep my cool in the face of adversity. Surely you all remember those photos of me sharing my birthday cake with George while the country faced an incredible natural disaster in NOLA, a testament to my ability to stay calm, even jubilant, in the face of the plight of our fellow citizens.

Of course, the strongest weapon in the arsenal of those who would strike me down is my association with G.W. Bush and his failed presidency. Again I assure you, my friends, that I am a maverick, a loner, a rebel who stands alone and apart from the war, famine, pestilence and death caused by the current president – in fact, forget what I just said about his being at my birthday party, because those pictures were obviously photo-shopped – except for the part where I am cool and collected.

In summary, my friends, I urge – no, I demand that you vote for me in November. A vote for McCain is a vote for everything that made this nation great, everything that makes our country strong, everything that will continue to keep us on the path to being the biggest bully on the block (except for the stuff that didn’t, doesn’t and won’t).

I am John McCain, my friends, and I approve of this message.*

53. Oh but that's not all ...look at this...
"I disagree with what the majority of the American people want." --John McCain (...and I disagree that you are not senile.)

"I 'Don't See How It Matters' That I Don't Know The Price Of Gas." --John McCain (Elite anyone?)

"Only the most deluded of us could doubt the necessity of this war." --John McCain (Well I am deluded then.)

"Thank God for our form of government. The media won't let there be any cover-up." --John McCain (Someone lied to us? What? Valerie Plame who?)

"We must win in Iraq. If we withdraw, there will be chaos; there will be genocide; and they will follow us home." --John McCain (Glad I still have that fallout shelter in muh back yard.)

"I am fully prepared to be commander in chief... I don't need on-the-job training." --John McCain (Who does these days?)

"Remember the words of Chairman Mao: 'It's always darkest before it's totally black.'." --John McCain (I noticed that the other day when the sun went down it got dark.)

"I will veto every single beer, um, bill with earmarks." --speaking at the National Small Business Summit, Washington, D.C., June 10, 2008 (Damn those sneaky beers trying to slip those dirty earmarks in.)

"We should be able to deliver bottled hot water to dehydrated babies." --Kenner, Louisiana, June 3, 2008 (My baby is hot!)

"I'm going to be honest: I know a lot less about economics than I do about military and foreign policy issues. I still need to be educated." --John McCain (Well I am happy that he decided to be honest for a change.)

"I am a illiterate that has to rely on my wife for all of the assistance I can get." -after being asked whether us uses a Mac or a PC (Ok I am going to donate my Atari 800XL to the poor old fuck.)

"It's not social issues I care about." --John McCain (Geeze ..could have fooled me.)

"F**k you! I know more about this than anyone else in the room." --to Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX), during a testy exchange about immigration legislation (Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.)

"No, I'm calling you a fucking jerk." --to fellow Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley, when Grassley asked "Are you calling me stupid?" (Glad we got that one cleared up. Wouldn't want to send the wrong message.)

"I said, 'The nice thing about Alzheimer's is you get to hide your own Easter eggs.'" --John McCain (I can only hope he forgets why he is running for president.)

"Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father." --at a 1998 Republican fundraiser (So you're saying you had a 3 way?)

"I will conduct a respectful debate. Now, it will be dispirited -- it will be spirited -- because there are stark differences. I am a proud conservative, liberal Republica-- conservative Republican...Hello? Easy there." --John McCain (The spirits are about to speak.)

“I think I am becoming incapable of being too surprised. But it just makes me sad and sick.” --John McCain quote (Bingo ..yes you are sad and sick.)

"I would vote for a Muslim if he or she was the best candidate able to lead the country and defend our political values." --John McCain (I'd even vote for a Nazi.)

"I hate the gooks. I will hate them as long as I live." --John McCain (Gee I hope no one here is a gook.)

That video is worth a thousand words - even yours, NanceGreggs - about the fraud that is John McCain.

19. Yeah, but the Bush adorers are down to less than 20% ...
... and a good portion of those who are still avid admirers probably (a) don't think it's worth the price of gas to get to the polling station, (b) think McCain is too "left wing" for their likin', or (c) will show up at the polls in February, because everyone knows they call it "Presidents' Day" 'cause that's the day you vote, stoopid.

29. I must tell you , my friends, that I am a very strong,
manly individual and I can prove that statement. If you will just look back to my vicious attack on a young teenage girl (Chelsea Clinton) by the way of a horrible joke I'm sure you'll agree I'm one tough bastard......well a bastard anyway. So tough, her father (who was POTUS at the time) didn't do anything about it....haha, he was lucky cause even though I can't raise my arms I coulda punched him in the famous pair, SS protection and all.

I lost respect for two people in the above episode, McSame for attacking a very vulnerable young girl and Bill Clinton for not beating the shit outa McSame. McSame I can understand but never forgive (it's his nature and can't be changed) Clinton cause he was a coward when it counted most, about his daughter.

44. As buzzflash wrote this week.. mc-caain..
<conclusion snips>

"Reporters also questioned him about the dramatic day he missed in the Senate Wednesday, specifically the failed Republican filibuster (a result of Sen. Ted Kennedy's return) of a Medicare bill to prevent a drop-off in physician reimbursement rates. McCain said he would have voted with many Republicans in opposing cloture".

Mark Halperin of Time wrote in his Wednesday report from the Straight Talk Express: "McCain initially said he did not regret missing the Medicare vote, because the bill would have been vetoed by the president. But he then said he regrets missing any vote."

McCain was the only Senator absent from Wednesday's Medicare vote. He did not participate in a Senate vote Thursday, but also had no scheduled campaign appearance until July 15.

This certainly sounds like enough campaign turmoil for one week, but hey, it's only Thursday. Stay tuned to see who the presumptive Republican Party nominee can offend or confuse tomorrow."
