How are we looking Senate/House - wise?
There's more than one office up for grabs in November.

How are we doing on solidifying a lead in the Senate and the House?

1. Here in NC...
I believe that we have a 50% chance of beating Dole.

2. In MD-1
They ran Gilchrest out in the primary with a neocon in the "Club for Growth", for not towing the party line.
Gilchrest was environmental and well liked here.
I'd bet money that Kratovil(D) will beat this new guy.

Can't get rid of Mikulski...yet.

3. Try these websites

According to current polls, we're looking at +4 in the Senate, +7 in the House.

4. I think dems will do better than that
In the Senate I think dems will pick up VA, NH, NM, CO and a couple of the following: AK, MN, MS or NC.

In the House I believe that it'll be closer to +10.

6. Polls were showing +5 in the Senate up until recently.
And I agree we could end up doing better than that. For one thing, Obama will probably have better coattails by election day if he doesn't get too carried away with this Republican lite thing. And for another, some of the pro-GOP poll respondents will actually stay home this Novemer.

9. Thank you for reminding me to volunteer for Udall here in
Colorado. It's something I've been meaning to do but just haven't gotten around to yet. But I will do that this very morning. Salazar is a really conservative Dem but Udall will be much better.

Since I've cut my work hours down, I can certainly spend more time helping out.

Great OP that reminds us of the big picture. Thanks again.
