I just came in from a three hour canvass asking people political questions for the Maine Democratic Party. The feed back I received for Obama was so positive!! Just about everyone I polled was for Obama. I would say the feedback for Tom Allen, who is running against Susan Collins for the US Senate, was about 75% positive. Unfortunately, many people were not informed about those who are running for State Senate and State Rep. The issues that were most important to people were mixed, but the economy and jobs seemed to be the issue a lot of people are concerned about.

Canvassing and phone banking are not really hard to do and I would encourage all of you to volunteer to help out in your community.

The massive national voter registration drive is humming along quite nicely. The enthusiasm for the Obama campaign is infectious. Good to tap into that from time to time as a balance to DU and to remind us of the task at hand.
