I just returned from an organizational meeting for Obama in my county and I am inspired |
|
The young lady from Obama'a campaign spoke passionately about working for Obama. She is from IL and interned for his campaign when he was running for Senate and has been working with him for a while. She said the thing she likes most about him is that he has intelligent well thought ideas and reasons for doing the things that he does. She also said she did not always agree with him but trusted his decisions.
I volunteered to phone bank, register voters, and house out of town staffers. I can't wait to get started!!!
Another inspiring thing happened at the meeting - a man came in to volunteer for Obama and said he was a registered Repub and was told he could change his registration at the meeting. They gave him a voter registration card and he completed right then and there!
BTW - I'm in NC and we are going to do our best to turn our state blue!

3. Thanks! "she did not always agree with him but trusted his decisions." Me, too. |
|
That's the crux of it. Please help put this man into the office of the presidency, folks.

4. Great to hear that! I want to work on the campagn, too. |

But, I don't have to do too much work to convince people here in Chicago to vote Obama.
Apparently mccain however might have some problems in his own state.

President of the United States!! It's a good feeling, isn't it? I spent three hours canvassing for Obama today and really was psyched when I finished.

So many seem willing to throw this election away. We're so close to * leaving the WH and having sanity return to this country and all they seem to want to is throw Obama under the bus.

11. I had to check your city and state, lol... |

Because I just got home from an Obama organizing meeting for my county, too! I'm in Alexander County NC. I see you're in NC too, but I've never heard of the town.
My county is very rural and small, only about 35-40,000 in the whole county. I was really surprised when someone from the campaign called me about the meeting, I didn't expect them to even bother with us as most of the registered voters are Replican, of the religious right variety. Hillary took this county by a pretty wide margin. I'm glad they're here though, the Democratic party has not been very organized or visible around here, and it's about time that changed. mr liberty and I have discussed the moribund state of our party here in our county, and the fact that if the party is going to not just thrive but survive here, now is the time to reach people.

16. I am actually in a different city than my profile says. I guess I should update it. |
|
I am in Randolph County - also rural and heavily Republican. It is nice to know Obama's campaign is reaching out to all areas of NC.

You'll find this to be a very rewarding experience. Obama supporters are great to get to know and you'll be making a lot of memories over the next 4 months while your making history.
