John Kerry speaking with passion on AAR > 7 Days in America this week.
It's in their clip library http://airamerica.com/7daysinamerica

Something I've noticed about Senator Kerry lately, that I didn't hear that much in '04, whenever I hear him, he Educates me.

1. If this John Kerry had been around in 2004, he would be President right now
Even Ken Blackwell wouldn't have been able to stop him.

29. He has always been like this. Most Dems didn't really know him because corpmedia edited him down
throughout that campaign - and Dan Rather has admitted that corporate media needed to protect Bush then for the favorable FCC rulings they expected in a second term.

It wasn't just Blackwell. It was corporate media and powerful Dems working with Bush and against Kerry, too. Blackwell was tipped off by Carville - the election process was controlled by RNC and GOP operatives for the four years after 2000s theft, while Terry McAuliffe's DNC stewardship meant sitting on his hands for four years and letting them do it.

6. Loved it! Educating = Leading.
It is sooooooo unusual to hear a politician say something you haven't heard before. We need more like JK.

33. Clips from recent programs are available to stream or download for free, but
more complete audio files of all shows require subscription (something like 10.95 @ month or $65.00 @ year, I think).

8. He did an Excellent job; sounds like he cares again.
It'd be real hard, deeply frustrating, to lose the way he did; under similar circumstances, I'd probably chill for a looooooooong time too.

though there are some differences between us, I DO believe in him.

14. Yup. Makes me proud to say those are my two Senators right there.
(One of whom was also my employer until recently, though now I am taking time off from the professional-political fray to -- and, yes, in some cases at least, this actually *is* true, honest -- spend more time with my family.)

(My dad's health is failing very fast now, I want to spend as much time with him as possible while I still can... though he's determined to hang on long enough to vote for a Democrat one last time in November, bless his heart...)

GOBAMA!!!

16. I did think that in 2004
When I watched the speeches in full on CSPAN. I don't think there were many venues like this in 2004 where Kerry could give complete, non rushed answers.

He was like this on the environment on all the appearance he made - but the least interesting were like Stephanopolous who wanted to make everything about the election. This is also how he seems to be in committee hearings - always extremely well prepared and an excellent listener.

Had our media let us see John Kerry unfiltered like this - he would have won. It's not just the intelligence, but the reasonableness and honesty that shows.

23. That is true - and I would think they might eventually learn that
having a person who actually knows a huge amount on important issues. In Kerry's case, he has an incredible ability to explain very complicated things in a clear way.

31. thanks for articulating so well. . this is just what I think.
though I'd add that it wasn't just the media. Too many of our citizens were apparently not in the mood to listen to Kerry's message, nor to pay enough attention to see the full depth and range of this man. It's candidates' job to explain themselves to the American people, but, dammit, it's also the job of American citizens to recognize the leaders in our midest and lift them up. I do blame the MSM and Rove, inc, for the outcome of 2004, and Kerry himself would acknowledge that he made a few strategic mistakes as well : but voters didn't do their job, either. Bush will not be treated kindly by history. . but neither will the American people , for we(or at least 1/2 of us) have been aiders and abettors of the Bush disaster for the last 8 years.

28. are you talking about Kerry with is comment on Obama
Voting for FISA being a presidential vote? I think Kerry has completely lost his mind and is holding onto coat tails just for his own position and legacy.

I don't know how anyone can let him off after he tossed our votes to the wind by backing down in 2004.

of this nation more positively than any other lawmaker in DC.

Take Kerry out of the last 35 years and this nation would be well into its second decade of Full-on Fascism by now.

35. I understood his comment
Would you prefer that he simply spoke of why he voted as he did - and said the candidate was wrong. He explained why Obama voted as he did, putting it in the best light possible. (I remember wanting to throw a shoe through the TV when Biden - as a surrogate - answered that Kerry should have voted "Yes" on both $87 billion votes as he did - that Kerry's vote was wrong. He would have done better had he explained Kerry's reasons - especially as the Republicans were using this - then pointed out that he disagreed - like Kerry did here.)

Kerry does not need "coat tails" to get re-elected he is polling better against his opponent than Obama is in MA. As to legacy, Kerry already had one before he entered public office. He is poised to be an extremely influential Senator - on many key issues. He already has led an incredible life of public service - even if he at times has not been rewarded.
