1. You do know it's July, right?
Those polls are pretty useless at this point.

and pull the cord. If it doesn't start on the first pull, then add a little gas.

If that doesn't work, press control-alt-delete.

If you get a blue screen, hit the carburetor with a ball-peen hammer.

then kick, but watch for its teeth ...

9. Kos had a good piece on this a day or two ago.
Newsweek got slammed for their "outlier" 15-point spread (confirmed by the LAT, but never mind), so in the next poll they changed their sample to one that tilted whiter, older, and more conservative than the previous poll. Viola! Different sample, different results—now it's a horse-race and everyone can go back to pretending that McCain has a chance. The media did the same weird shit for weeks after Hillary was mathematically eliminated from the primary—they kept repeating her goofy campaign spin about the popular vote and white voters and big states as though it actually meant something, because the illusion of a horse-race was good for ratings. The only problem with this kind of manipulation is that it makes it somewhat more possible that McCain and the Republicans could steal the election, or at least cheat Obama out of the landslide mandate that's rightfully his. The media have collaborated pretty consistently on the side of Republicans in electoral politics since the late '60s.

14. Read The Widget and feel better: Monday, July 14 – Obama 402, McCain 136...

No sense getting upset at meaningless popular vote numbers, *especially* this early.

15. Yes America is STUPID!! Bush twice!! The media can crucify Obama and give McIdiot a pass. Losing is
a possibility. Obama is making some mistakes as of late IMO as well and feeding the fire.

Its disheartening and I wish that most Americans would look things up for themselves when they hear something on the news but sadly they don't and they take a lot of it as truth

16. Come November what will matter the most
(in my opinion) is whether or not a significant number of new, young voters actually show up and vote for Obama. Historically citizens under age 25 hardly vote at all, and if they show up in the same percentage as those over 50, then look out! I also personally hope that the extreme right wing feels discouraged enough to stay home.
