You know, I do miss the old Zell Miller.
Edited on Mon Jul-14-08 01:36 PM by Drunken Irishman
It's a shame this guy lost it, because he was a guy you wanted on your side back in the day.

In the 1988 convention, the Democrats decided to use pastel colors for the American flag, a choice mocked by Republicans, especially New Jersey governor Thomas Kean. Kean famously said, at the Republican Convention, "The Dukakis Democrats will try to talk tough, but don't be fooled. They may try to talk like Dirty Harry, but they will still act like Pee Wee Herman." It was an image that really hurt the Democrats image and played a role in why Dukakis lost so badly.

Well 4 years later, at the Democratic Convention, Zell Miller got a bit of revenge when he quipped, ""Our Commander in Chief talks like Dirty Harry but acts like Barney Fife."

And now he's Republican slime.

Anyone hear from good ol' Zell? Has he had a change of heart since losing it in 2004?

3. Sadly.
I think after 1992, he ate some rat poison.

7. I read he won't support Obama.
Not a surprise and not that I care.

It's just really interesting to watch him go from giving one of the best speeches at the Democratic Convention in 1992, to the most insane (2004). He really lost it.

9. Surely you wouldn't expect a Dixiecrat to support the AA candidate! n/t

12. Not by Byrd's votes in recent years.
Miller never changed his spots in that regard.

2. That fuckwad was at Justice Sunday 2...

5. I just looked him up, I guess he was in my neck of the woods last year.
Discussing how tax breaks for the rich are good (but not for the poor, go figure), discussing how the Teachers' Union was pro-gay and bitching and moaning about the ills of liberalism.

He's a total fuckwad.

8. I live near Nashville where...
Justice Sunday was held. Did you know that even the members of that church had to pay to go that Sunday?

17. Yikes, I wouldn't pay a couple bucks, let alone a couple hundred.
Fools, all of them!
