Just saw the preview for the film "Swing Vote"...I'm gonna puke...
It brought back all the anxieties of the recount in 2000 and the subsequent 2004 stealing in Ohio. I got to thinking: I wasn't able to read Toobin's book...I just didn't have the heart...I couldn't watch the film "Recount"...look what these guys did to us...or at least to me. Filled with dread and anxiety...IT'S BAD ENOUGH THAT I'M A PHILLIES FAN! I didn't need this as well.

1. I'm not going to see it...Kevin Costner is in it.
That's a deal breaker for me.

4. This may make you feel better about Costner...
Apparently he's figured it out.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000126/bio

"Costner is frequently cited as a celebrity Republican, although he no longer is. He did socialize and golf with President George Bush, and in 1992 the Bush re-election campaign leaked word that he would appear in a commercial for the President. Costner, then a registered Republican, had no intention of aiding Bush, according to a close associate. He was a Clinton supporter. "We had to tell the Bush campaign to stop saying he was going to do ads," the associate says. Before the 1996 election, Costner switched his registration to Independent. He gave $5,000 to the Democratic Party and attended the Democratic National Convention. Still, he continues to receive invitations to GOP fund raisers, and in February 1999 the New York Times referred to him as a Republican. "He's not a particularly political guy," says the associate."

2. But I heard its the 'feel good' movie of 2008?
:sarcasm:

from the link: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1809914568/details

"Bud Johnson, an apathetic, beer-slinging, lovable loser, is coasting through a life that has passed him by. The one bright spot is his precocious, over-achieving twelve year-old daughter Molly. She takes care of both of them, until one mischievous moment on Election Day, when she accidentally sets off a chain of events which culminates in the election coming down to one vote... her dad's."

It's a Disney mess. What else do we expect at this point?

3. As a Lions' fan, I feel your Phillies pain.
Got to agree with the post about Kevin Costner, too.
