Past McCain Rape Joke Comes To Light!
Edited on Tue Jul-15-08 07:11 PM by slinkerwink
There's a report that's all over Crooks and Liars, Jed Report, Wonkette, Think Progress, America Blog, and Feministe, about a past rape joke that McCain made that's come to light. You can read the newspaper where it quotes Senator John McCain making a heinous rape joke below:

Did you hear the one about the woman who is attacked on the street by a gorilla, beaten senseless, raped repeatedly and left to die? When she finally regains consciousness and tries to speak, her doctor leans over to hear her sigh contently and to feebly ask, ‘Where is that marvelous ape?’

This disgusting rape joke made it to the pages of the Tucson Citizen on October 27, 1986.

Let me repeat it here---rape isn't funny.

2. So let's see where we stand with John McCain's attitude towards women.
His wife is injured in a car wreck, puts on weight, but waits for him faithfully for years while he is a POW. Soon after he returns, he drops her like yesterday's garbage for a younger, richer woman.
He calls his current wife a 'cunt' for making a playful comment about his hair thinning.
He's against choice and has a terrible voting record on women's issues.
And now this.
How could ANY woman justify voting for this sexist sack of shit?

10. The only fucking idiot that would find a rape joke funny is someone that has not been raped.
Rape is an act of violent control. There is nothing sexual about rape, except for utilizing the sexual organs to perpetuate it. Irregardless of man on woman or man on man, rape is a vicious, sadistic act. And frankly, I like the idea of castration with a rusty knife as punishment.

Squint and ignore your inner "no...surely not" voice and then you'll get it. :(

18. I didn't realize McCain beat The Fugitive (Richard Kimball) in '86...

I mean, it's one thing to tell a joke about a woman being beaten and raped by a gorilla -- it's another to do that and win against a guy who's been wrongly accused of killing his wife.

Wow.

Oh, and as long as McCain is trying to win Florida, someone should also highlight the last part of that article that quotes him referring to the Leisure World Retirement Community as "Seizure World."

He'll have the psychopaths rolling in the aisles at this true comedic gem. Maybe Bush can stand next to him and make monkey sounds while he tells it.
