The neverending explaination.
We will not suceed until we as Democrats stop E X P L A I N I N G.

Obama's campaign response to the New Yorker. Nuff said.

Everything that we do is constantly couched in terms that make a visitor from another planet think that the only people that vote live in a area roughly from Boston to Northern Virginia.

Doing things and proposing idiotic items such as a Republican VP. Then we will need to explain.

Why can't just get with it with simple messages and constantly talking over the heads of people? Not everyone listens to NPR and Terry probe the inner feelings of New York artists.

Simplify. Repeat. Simplify.

1. Have you read the Toynbee-Ackerman study that supports your theory

but gives it much more weight in certain geographical areas?

Apparently it can also be better understood in cross cultural families with strong blue collar backgrounds. There were some strong dissenting voices to its publication that pointed out that families with internet connections did not show the same responding concerns and that families living above the 47th parrallel showed differing responses in the winter months with the shortened daylight hours having a coresponding effect.

The contrarian argument that it is determined by diet was completely debunked when it was shown that the researchers were faking the vegetarian statistics. The impact on pet owners however held up under clinic conditions and is now considered a strong endorsement of your theory.

We need to start a seperate forum on this and study it some more.

2. The Republican technique of simple messages repeated ad nauseum is the way to win elections.
They learned this from their experience and success with advertising.

This is why they are so successful at winning elections even though they suck at governing.

They win because they abjure the Socratic method in favor of the Pavlovian technique.

Advertisers never overestimate the intelligence of their target audience. For every one who sees through the pitch to sell snake oil, there are three or more who will willingly shell out their hard earned money for over-priced, shoddy, useless junk. The marketers go for quantity over quality, and since it is the greater numbers that win, they succeed again and again, leaving Democrats scratching their heads.

The Republicans come up with a simple message and repeat it over and over again until it becomes a mantra. The message need NOT make sense and need NOT be true. It needs only to be invoked, much like Pavlov's bell, to get the masses to respond. This is why the Republicans can flip-flop on what they say with impunity. The targeted audience doesn't hear what anyone says. They merely wait for the key word that they have been taught to respond to.

Until the Democrats get off their high horse and acknowledge this truth, they will always come up short.

3. Bravo
I can't help but think that RW neocon cabal are reading this divisive stuff I see on here and laughing their asses off. Not only are we spending so much time fending off the RW MSM strategically devised bullsh*t, we are spending so much time infighting that we lose sight of the objective. All the time and effort spent not attacking McSame is tallied as "direct hits" by the enemy. WHY do they see it that way? Because they have put us in a DEFENSIVE stance to their attack mode. They shoot arrows of straw and we hunker down in the "FOX" hole to talk about it.

It is WE that must go into attack mode. Simply ignore their attacks by acknowledging them as lies and move on. Do not waste time defending. ATTACK!
