How could we?

After all these years of fuck ups, Only Delusion allows for this insanity of trusting the Pub Party

Come, we work our asses off to defeat the GOP who caused our woes.

2. It's called "reaching across the aisle" ...
... while hoping the crocodiles on the other side aren't hungry.

Hagel is a bushie, through-and-through, cheated his way to winning his Senatorial seat via ownership of voting machines. His only claim to fame is speaking out against the Iraq War. However, he has such a nice gentlemanly demeanor, eh?

Here is Hagel's "Political Courage" record on abortion, or, as I like to refer to it, autonomous reproductive rights for women:

Indicate which principles you support (if any) concerning abortion.
a) Abortions should always be illegal.
b) Abortions should always be legally available.
c) Abortions should be legal only within the first trimester of pregnancy.
d) Abortions should be legal when the pregnancy resulted from incest or rape.
X e) Abortions should be legal when the life of the woman is endangered.
X f) Eliminate public funding for abortions and public funding of organizations that advocate or perform abortions.
g) Other or expanded principles

He supports e and f, only.

See: http://votesmart.org/npat.php?can_id=231#409

For more info, go to http://www.votesmart.org, type Hagel in the search field, examine his complete record, and then ask yourself why this bush-tool is even being considered.

4. Yes, you make an eloquent point....doin't that man realize we have too many peeps on EARTH?
If we had stopped Population Growth and stabilized at 1 or 2 Billion....we wouldn't have to be drilling anywhere...

But thats a Maybe and an IF....we didn't....

But why compound it with uncontrolled GROWTH?

This has to be an issue soon.....its COMPELLING due to the Consequences of INACTION....

10. It pisses me off that these Hagel threads aren't locked
I think ppl should alert on them. Since when is it okay to tout a republican on this site and say a republican is the only way to win?

also, I am SO SICK of this "across the aisle" bullshit. Go read up on the ways in which the Republican congress HID from democrats to keep them out of meetings (Matt Tiabbi, Worst Congress Ever, Rolling Stone.)

The REPUBLICANS have screwed up the economy. THEY HAVE MADE TORTURE quasi-legal (and the democrats who enabled them should go to jail too, Nancy Pelosi.)

THEY HAVE MADE US A PARIAH IN THE WORLD. The reputation of the U.S. is the lowest I can ever remember during my lifetime around the world. We're even more disliked than CHINA in Asia, thanks to the Republicans.

They have made us a laughing stock in the world by coddling creationist /IT idiots and allowing that bullshit to be on sale in national parks.

They have allowed certain religious groups to have favorable treatment and have allowed those groups to try to deny women rights to their own decisions about birth control (I'm talking about the morning after pill and birth control pills.)

Hagel is FAR to the right of any democrat I know as far as social issues go. It would be the ULTIMATE betrayal by Obama if he chose a republican and no, I would no longer support his candidacy. I wouldn't vote for mccain, either. I would just stay home and tell the democrats to go fuck themselves.

Their moles are trying to insinuate them (esp. Hagel) into the democratic party because they know they are going to be out of power for decades. They are going to lose even more Congressional seats.

I HATE republicans for what they have done to this nation. THEY NEED TO GO. They are the worst thing that has EVER happened to this nation. THEY ARE WORSE THAN 9-11 - and of course, they fucked up on that one, too, no matter how they try to pretend it's someone else's fault.

That's the thing about republicans. they claim to be about personal responsibility, yet they never admit they're wrong. Even after a 50 year study of prezzes has shown that republicans are WORST for our economy, not better. They claim to be about freedom, yet they want to tell women how to live and want to treat women like second-class citizens.

Why choose a cabinet or vp or anything else that includes the biggest fuck ups in the history of this nation? If that's good for this nation, then I'm Angelina Jolie.

11. Yes, I agree that for many reasons, common sense, logic, and GUT FEELINGs. its a BAD IDEA
to bring Hagel to the forefront as a VP Candidate.

We have so many who are better than he.

Them Pubs are doing so bad these days, they are infiltrating our Party by joining and posing as Libs, Progs, Centrists, etc...anything to get into Office....

Hagel is attempting a open opportunity....he don't qualy...he is not a DEM....in any sense of the term.

IMHO, if those people were TS'ed we'd have a far less fractious group.
