The reason I ask I'm wondering if I should expect a long wait in lines as usual at Disney-World/Land etc.

1. I wouldn't think it'd be as bad as usual. My friend just made
Edited on Wed Jul-16-08 02:30 PM by woodsprite
arrangements to stay at Fort Wilderness in August, and she had no problem at all. She asked them if they were full, and the agent said that they had a continual flow of people, but they haven't been 'full' this season.

I also just made arrangements for 2 weeks in a vacation house down in Hatteras. No problem getting the weeks or the house I wanted.

SIL just got back from 10 days at the beach over July 4th and they said the same thing. Sometimes they were the only ones on their stretch of beach.

But we are having a ball, as usual. If you don't focus on having fun, here, the pace can kill you.

10. I'm further up the coast
midcoast, Rockland which is a couple of hours north. Still waiting to hear the numbers for the Blues Festival from last week, and the Lobster Festival is next, July 30 - Aug 5th (?) I'm unsure of the ending date.

7. No numbers, but I'm still in close contact with some
law enforcement in the Great Smoky Mountains and surrounding areas. They're all telling me tourism is way, way down - even over the Fourth of July.

9. The way to beat the lines at Disneyland, if your going with smaller children is
to stay up late the night before and sleep in. During the day go the more adult rides and then head for the kids places at about 7:00. The small kids get exhausted and the place really thins out. The last two hours before closing you can go to all of the kid rides one after another without any lines.

12. Not at a place like Disney.
That attracts foreign tourists cashing in on our low dollar.

Plan your visit as much as you can, and use FastPass.
