Ohhh... also, Roederer has a California winery called Roederer Estate that makes an amazing sparkler for the low, low price of only about $23. You won't believe how good it is! Get plenty for 1/20/09!

I might try to find an older vintage. I know of one store in the area that carries some, but not sure just how old. It comes in 15, 18, 21, 30, and 40 year old stock. The 50 year old stock is sold out (like I could afford it... ) The 40 year old bottles go for over a $1,000. I'd love to just have a taste. The 21 year old bottles finish off the last 4 mos. in barrels that once held rum from the Caribbean...sounds interesting, and might be able to treat myself to one of those, for such a special occasion.

I use loose tea and a diffuser.

I don't really have a recipe. I start with equal parts, but may shift the amounts of each around on any given day, depending on my mood.

It's good, and talk about relaxing...I first used it several years back when I suffered from insomnia. It helped me find much needed sleep.

108. Catnip is part of the mint family,
and makes good tea. The same compound that makes cats go nuts has a mild sedative effect on humans.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nepetalactone

Since all 3 of the herbs act as a mild sedative, among other things, the 3 of them together pack quite a punch.

87. In 05 we had a "themed" Thanksgiving and had the pom and Prosecco.
I didn't know some people call them "tintorettos." I like the name though.

Maybe the reason we both like bellinis is that they are light in alcohol.

I really wish I could find the malvesia that I had in northern Italy last May. Really great, but obscure, wines on that trip. In Verona they served white wine in short pitchers on the table, but when you finished the pitcher they'd just bring more and wouldn't charge any more. Coca Cola was more expensive than the wine...

70. He is SO beautiful!
I'd have watched Queer even if it was the worst show on TV just to look at Brian. I may even start watching Desperate Housewives again just because of him.

80. Ice water
Morning, noon, and night, like always.

Ginger ale counts as a splurge for me.

My system is so content with water that anything else basically gives me a headache.

83. I am not buying anything in advance. Don't want to queer his chances.
I went out and bought a bottle of champagn in 2004 after hearing about the exit polls from someone who's house I visited while volunteering for the campaign.

Bad idea.

I will not do that again.

Some say it was the voting machines but I know it was that bottle of Korbel Brut.
