Why Can't Obama Take A Joke?.......
This just pisses me off. On MSNBC now both on Hardball with Tweety and now Gregory's show - they are making an issue of this. They are just making things up now to pick at because they're really having to look hard to find something to attack this Obama on.

Look - running for President of this country - especially after *Co screwed this country up so badly - is serious business. Obama can't take chances that a New Yorker magazine cover has a negative effect on his campaign.

Maybe McCain and Bush can find things funny because they are laughing at us for all that they've gotten away with over the last 8 years.

But saying that Obama can't take a joke because he's elitest - just fry's my ass.

I can't wait till we're rid of this administration and just pray that the MSM will cowtow to the new Obama administration like they are to *Co.

McCain a Maverick - my ass. McCain also has a warped sense of humor - cases in point - his "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran" and this gorilla joke he told that was both racist and sexist. He's just a jerk and follows in the same mold as the current jerk - Dubya.

2. If he HADN'T criticized the cover,
the news would be all astir whispering "well, maybe it's true -- it didn't seem to bother him at all."

They need their heads knocked together.

11. actually, if he'd sarcastically said "it's nice to have all the smears in one place" or the like
this wouldn't be an issue.

Obama and his campaign fucked up in their initial reaction. However, they have gotten so many other things right, it's impossible to fault them

7. This is why anyone who expects any consistency from Tweety
will always be disappointed.Yesterday he was tut-tuting The New Yorker with furrowed brow, today Obama can't take a joke.Tweety has no real opinions ,he's a Barnam and Bailey carnival barker.

and accused him of personal attacks against McWW3.

8. lets see McCain take a joke about being a POW- or his fathers alcholism or
how he dumped his first trophy wife when she fell and got broken for a rodeo queen?

Maybe when they lite on a real JOKE they can have the right to ask this question with any integrety- I've not seen him be unable to take or make a real JOKE-

Until then they can stick their jokes in theirears :nuke:

14. Oh, yeah....nice.
We should have seen a nice big fat "FAIL" way sooner in these threads.

Instead, we argued over it's value as anything more than cheap humor, or as another member described it, "soft core porn" for pseudo-intellectuals.

:hi:

16. Not trying to be a whiner or anything,
But I don't need my candidate with a sense of humor,
because thus far, I fail to find anything funny.

81% say the country is heading in the wrong direction!

That's soooo not FUNNY

19. He was just being honest.
It's not like Obama went out of his way to criticize The New Yorker. The first time the media asked his opinion, he said, "No comment." But they kept hounding him until they got a reaction. But even then Obama basically just brushed it off as no big deal TO HIM. All he said was that it was potentially damaging to Muslims.

Was he supposed to lie and say it was hilarious?
