AP story: Patti Solis Doyle says she could easily work for HRC again if HRC is on the ticket
And she checked with Clinton before joining the Obama campaign.

Ex-Clinton aide checked before joining Obama team

By DEANNA BELLANDI

CHICAGO (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton's former campaign manager, now on Barack Obama's team, says she could easily work for her old boss again if Clinton were on the Democratic ticket.

Clinton replaced Patti Solis Doyle after poor early showings in the primaries, but Solis Doyle told The Associated Press on Wednesday she didn't think their longtime friendship was permanently damaged. She joined the Obama campaign last month as chief of staff to Obama's eventual running mate.

Solis Doyle said her move came as no surprise to Clinton. Still, some of Clinton's backers were outraged by what they saw as a slight to Clinton and an indication that she would not get the vice presidential slot.

"I understand the, you know, deep emotion and passion, absolutely. She's my friend and I threw everything into her campaign that I could possibly throw into it," Solis Doyle said during an interview in her office at Obama's downtown Chicago headquarters. "But as heartbreaking as it was, she lost. And now it's time, for the good of our country and for the good of my kids, to move on and get Barack Obama elected."

-snip-

She says the move to Obama came with "very complicated emotions" because of that past. So she checked with her old boss before joining Obama's team.

"She's a friend of mine and I just wanted to, both on a personal and professional level, let her know what I was doing and make sure that she was, you know, good with it. And she was," Solis Doyle said.

-snip-

This seems to indicate that her joining the Obama campaign was not meant as a signal that Clinton will not be the VP.

I could live with that. She would be better than Hagel.

8. 3) She could turn Arkansas and maybe a couple of other states blue.
4) She's not Chuck Hagel.

18. Its a crazy crazy world
when I find myself almost hoping that Hillary will be VP. Almost. Not yet, I still think there are better choices, but I cringe a lot every time I hear the name Hagel now. I'm still kinda waiting for a dark horse. An unexpected, unanticipated, not Republican dark horse

4. This is entirely up to Obama, your nonstop rallying for HRC for VP notwithstanding.
Some respect for the nominee, please.

6. This is no different than the
Clark people, Biden people, etc etc. If the OP has someone he'd like for VP let him discuss it.

12. It's up to him, but what a strategic blunder it would be! TWO VIDEOS added to mcLame's ammo:
Tuzla - mcLame easily proves clinton's a liar.

Endorsing him over Obama - undercuts the ticket.

I don't think Obama is stupid.

Saying he wasn't prepared to be CiC makes this a deal-breaker. There doesn't exist enough lipstick for that pig. Sabotage is in the air. He needs to keep upwind of that mess.

its not like she was going to say "No, no absolutely not!" or anything. Of course she will say yes. It will be Obama's choice, not hers.

13. Does anyone really expect Solis Doyle to say something inflammatory to the *AP*?
Anyone close to the Obama campaign is not going to fan any flames of discord. This is the type of response I would expect, because the media is probably asking pretty point-blank questions such as 'Do you believe Hillary will be the VP candidate?', etc. It's all the interviewee can do to deflect them.

16. So I guess that's why Clinton issued a statement defending her hiring
I remember when some of Clinton's backers were upset about Solis-Doyle being hired she put out a statement in support. I thought that was classy of her and she didn't have to do it...I guess if Solis-Doyle talked to her before taking the job then she probably did not feel slighted.
