Letter in my paper re: PUMA PAC and Obama...any feedback from you guys?

To the Editor,

We know very little about Senator Obama, but we do know that he is unwilling to take a firm stance on issues. Is this really a characteristic of a good president? Here are a small number of the issues he has flip-flopped on.

Campaign Financing – Stated he would accept public financing for the general election, and then later rejected it.

FISA – Voted in favor of the government’s eavesdropping program and legal immunity for telecommunications companies after promising his supporters he would reject it.

Gun Ban – An advocate for both an individual’s right to own a gun as well as the government’s right to regulate ownership.

NAFTA – Assured America he would negotiate a better deal with NAFTA, then winked to the Canadian government that this was simply political posturing and NAFTA would remain unchanged.

Iraq – Assured his supporters that he would have all American troops pulled out of Iraq immediately, now he claims this would not be possible.

The list is endless.

I am a member of PUMA PAC. We are a group of citizens motivated to action by our shared belief that the current leadership of the Democratic National Committee has abrogated its responsibility to represent the interests of all democrats in all 50 states. I wish to emphasize that I and thousands of other PUMA members will not vote for Sen. Obama, the DNC’s selected not elected nominee for the 2008 election.

I am a lifelong Democrat since 1964 and I have changed my party affiliation to Independent and if Hillary Clinton is not the Democratic nominee, I will vote Republican for the first time ever.

1. A news journal with integrity would not print an editorial with falsehoods,
would it?

I'd expect it to be rejected out of hand.

4. In other words, she is one of these old bag, crybabies
She is at odds with her own candidate. Her own candidate has urged her supporters to support the nominee. Will she repudiate her own nominee's wishes?

My first choice for the nomination has never won a non-incumbent primary. Not supporting the nominee was never an option for me.

I'd even have voted for Gravel if that nut had somehow been nominated, even if he refuses to reciprocate and be a team player.

8. Dear Guila

Please take the time to visit John McCain's website and check out his positions and see how they allign with Hillary Clinton's. Are they close? Are they even in the same ballpark? Take some time to visit the websites and blogs of McCain supporters? Do you really feel comfortable there?

If your answer is yes, then I doubt you ever were a Democrat. Ever.
