It's time for the official DU vice-presidential pool! |
|
Make your prediciton on WHO Obama will pick as well as WHEN he will do so. The person who comes closest will win a no-bid construction contract in Iraq.
Only those who pick the correct running mate can win. If more than one person picks the correct VP nominee, the tie will be broken by who comes closest on the date. Any further ties will be broken by a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.
I'll start:
Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer Monday, August 4

What the hell, I love Edwards even if he doesn't add foreign policy cred to the ticket, and August 5 is my birthday.

10. Former governor and senator Bob Graham of Florida....8/1/08..... |
|
Graham has executive experience, has a heavy background in foreign policy and international relations, is still popular in Florida and has none of the baggage that Sam Nunn brings.

17. He'll be 72 just after the election which means he offers no threat of running in 2016.... |
|
Leaving the door open for a fair fight. That should help with anyone who aspires to run in 2016.

20. John Kerry, August 10th |
|
This is the safe choice for Obama, and rumored under consideration. Kerry he has been nominated prior, so is defacto qualified to be pres and acceptable to the party. He has been vetted. The issues with his candidacy are known and can thus be planned for. Kerry meets the NS credentials test.
