Obama camp correction: "Obama ALONE has $72 million on hand"+DNC has $20 mil. = $92 million on hand
Dems nearly equal Republican cash on hand

The Obama campaign emails to correct David Plouffe's missive to supporters earlier this morning: In fact Obama alone has $72 million on hand; the Democratic National Committee, spokeswoman Karen Finney says, raised more than $22 million last month and has more than $20 million on hand.

In total, the Democrats have some $92 million on hand, to the combined Republican total of $95 million.

That virtual tie should light a fire under both parties fundraising efforts. But the Democratic campaign has been raising, and spending, faster than the GOP, so parity is likely to be elusive.

3. Yup.
All I can say is thank goodness! I'm not comfortable being undergunned against the Republicans. We've seen how unethical their advertising is.

2. 30 million WSJ

I expect this number only to increase in the excitement leading up to the convention and after the convention.

4. It appears from the Email that you are counting DNC money twice.
In the month of June, supporters like you helped raise $52 million. And together with the DNC, we now have nearly $72 million in the bank. That's a very strong financial position to be in.

10. It is good news - another $20 million sloshing around in Barack's checking account.

Considering the enormous numbers of staff being hired in all the states, along with offices opened, I think it is pretty damn impressive.

13. They are essentially even - 92 v. 95 but when it looked like 72 v. 95 then it
did look like McCain had more.

Another difference is that the DCCC (House) and DSCC (Senate) have a lot of $$$$ while their Republican counter-parts have very little.

Dems will have more $$$$ as long as people continue to donate.
