Corporate media is becoming a TAD BIT Obvious in their attempts to vilify Barack Obama!
Someone should counsel them to lower the volume on their attacks,
because even to ordinary Joe Blow who might be paying just some attention
the hits by the corporate media are becoming obvious even to them.

I am writing letters today to various national Newspapers letting them know
that as an ordinary citizen who has taken interest in these elections,
I am becoming uneasy at the number of unwarranted attacks leveled at the
Democratic Nominee, Barack Obama.

Whether they are skewing polls against Obama,
only reporting certain negative aspects of such,
or just attempting to affix a less than favorable label to him,
or constantly speak of the "risk" he is taking by going overseas,
it all seems forced and calculated and media driven.

What is most appalling is that it appears that it is being done in concert,
as thought various contigencies of the media are discussing
how to attack Barack Obama on a daily basis,
and are operating off of the same talking points.

I will be suggesting in my letters,
that when people like me get suspicious,
that should let them know that the intensity of their attacks
are only going to backfire. :)

I am writing to the New York Times, letters@nytimes.com
The Washington Post, letters@washpost.com
and Deborah Howell, The Ombudsman at WAPO, ombudsman@washpost.com
The Wall Street Journal, feedback@wsj.com
and Alan Murray, Executive Editor at WSJ, a.murray@wsj.com
the Associated Press, attention to Ron Fournier, rfournier@ap.org

and I will also copy the News watchdog groups
Media Matters mm-tips@mediamatters.org
and FAIR fair@fair.org

I urge you to join me

1. Writing to their sponsors might have a greater impact.
If these outlets cared about anything other than money and supporting the regime, then letter writing campaigns might be more effective.

Advertisers have been known to pull their ads in a quick minute if they hear enough outrage from consumers.

No ad revenue, they suddenly begin to listen.

Just a thought.

which I have never heard of being effective
up to now unless it was a mass action.

I believe that am stuck with starting
where I can make a difference,
since there aren't that many joining in
that I know of.

corporate media. They have bigger fish to fry. The networks used to run the news divisions at a loss, largely fulfilling their "in the public interest" obligations through them. Now infotainment provides profits, but more importantly pushes the corporate agenda.

The corporate media serve as the house organs for the conglomerates who own them. Getting out the message is more important to them than six months' profit from their "news" divisions.

Might as well get used to it, it's going to be anti-Obama 24/7 from here on out. What's good for General Electric et al may not be good for the world or America, but it's good for the corporate stooges who for them.

2. Skinner last election we had emails and addresses for almost all the
media - it should be in the archives - we could use that again. Thank you.

3. Actually, I'm thinking that it might backfire...
They've been going after Obama since Rev. Wright. If Rev. Wright didn't work and none of these other tactics are working, then maybe---just MAYBE---people are smart this time around. They can see right through the M$M bullshit this time. Their apparent biases hasn't really done too much damage to Obama. His favorability ratings are still higher than McSame's.

9. I can't leave it up to what maybe, just maybe
might happen.
The stakes are too high for that.

18. I'm not suggesting complacency; but I do think that the 24/7 Obama bashfest
could possibly backfire. People may get tired of hearing that shit.

7. I say Good! Because the more obvious they are the
more the mainstream voter sees them for what they are..mediawhores.

And, it sends the message to Team Obama that they are a Clear and Present Danger and don't fall into their traps. Team Obama is a wiley bunch and they are working overtime to win in spite of the US Goebbels Network.

11. Better early than later, I guess.
Can they possibly continue at this intensity,
where everything about Obama is bad,
and everything about McCain is good?

Sadly, Probably.

12. Tell them that you're boycotting their products, and follow through.
If we don't like their news content, why support the fuckers?

I, for example, will never, ever pay money knowingly for a Disney or ATT product.

First, study up on ownership: http://www.thenation.com/special/bigten.html

Any letters might be more effective if you mention that you intend to boycott their products and the products of their parent and sibling companies, and sponsors thereof.

Even if letters and boycotts don't work, understanding the monopolies and boycotting where possible will make a dent in their bottom line

17. I thought I was just being paranoid???

But I have noticed a constant barage of MSM talking heads constantly trying to poke holes
in Obama's policies and campaign doings. They also push their quests to do the same thing.
They just question and try to poke holes in everything BO says and does.

McCain, their darling, always gets a free ride!
