Obama HAS studied Spanish
(snip)

***: From a Jorge Ramos interview with Obama--

Obama studied Spanish in high school and for two years in college. "My Spanish used to be OK," he said. Now, however, he has all but forgotten it.

He will often echo the slogan made famous by United Farm Workers founders Cesar Chavez and Dolores Huerta: "Si se puede" ("Yes, we can").

But he is aware that saying a few words in Spanish is not enough to win 10 million Hispanic voters in the November presidential election, or the goodwill of 550 million Latin Americans.

Finally, trying to show he would be a president of action, not words, Obama said he wanted to make his first trip to Latin America very soon. "I would love to go . . . between now and November."

1. OMG! So did I! Learning a foreign language is great for a well-rounded education.
I took Spanish to get out of band in high school.
And my Spanish teachers were witty, clever, and funnier than hell.
They were one of my favorite classes!
Course it didn't hurt that my Spanish II teacher was a knockout and single.

*rowr*

3. campbell brown was almost about to say that learning a foreign language
could be looked upon as unpatriot - i kid you not.
one of her guests, i forget his name but he's one of the ones that has a brain on CNN, called her out on how stupid that was to say and she backed off.

this was maybe a week or so ago.

what a disgusting display on her part and where her butter is breaded.
