Is Obama going to wait until the convention to announce his VP?
I don't think I can wait that long.

This Zogby poll is scary:
Likelihood to vote for Barack Obama if he chooses ... as his Vice President

3. McCain will have to figure out how to pry LIEberman off his butt first.
Joe Lies is embedded like a wood tick.

Afterr that, there will be room for someone to kiss his ass, like Mittens.

5. That's a game of chicken he will lose, since the GOP Convention is after the Democratic Convention
McThuselah has already said he will pick after the Democratic National Convention which means Obama has to pick first.

25. I heard that McCain plans to wait until after Obama
makes his pick and then name his own pick around the time of the Democratic convention to keep Obama from getting a bounce.

2. It's a better use of suspense if Obama waits until the convention to
announce his choice.

Also it puts the New York POST on edge.

: )

The Zogby findings are interesting, but as soon as the convention week begins, the white-hot attention Obama's choice will receive will obviate any pre-convention poll with contrary findings.

If the rumor mill has it as either Reed or Richardson, it will be Schweitzer.

If the rumors say either Sebelius or Bayh, it will be Biden.

And so forth.

And as soon as the announcement is made, every headline in the country will carry the veep nom's name.

all hoping for something that can never happen though. A few weeks ago Brian was asked if he would accept the VP spot if asked, and he again said he has the best job in the world, and why would he ever leave it? Then he said, "besides, my dog hates Washington!" I think he would be an excellent choice, but I'm afraid Brian doesn't agree.

He sat in front of the UN and gave an entire presentation based on some college kid's 12 year old term paper. Which the former college kid himself even admitted was bullshit.

And his son made the FCC even worse than it was before. Now you can't even listen to classic rock radio anymore without hearing **bleeps** in songs like Pink Floyd's "Money", which were on the radio for damn near 30 years before Colon Bowels bought his son a chair at the FCC.

Fuck both of them, and the Chimp they rode in on.

The first easily proves clinton a liar, the second undercuts the ticket (mcLame's already using it in his campaign ads).

Do you really think so? It has been a long time since we saw a Primary that ended this late - and with a person, that came in second, that garnered as many votes as Hillary did.

I do not see how in the world this would hurt Obama.

Question: Do you also believe that it is ridiculous for Obama to allow Hillary to go out and campaign to get him elected so far? :eyes:

26. Before the convention
Sen. Obama will have to shut down the Clinton for VP operation before Denver to make sure he has undisputed control over convention proceedings.

He will also need to introduce his VP pick to the country and give them a chance to become acquainted.

He has several reasons for not picking Sen Clinton as VP but I suspect his chief one is he cannot trust her.

I think he's going to have to convince Clinton to once again come out and pledge her full support for the combined ticket. There is going to be a lot of screaming by certain members here at DU when Obama doesn't pick Clinton. Expect a full force backlash, especially if he chooses a female nominee.

48. The Effect of the Olympics
The conventional wisdom says the Olympics will dominate the news from August 8 until August 24. Our convention starts on August 25. Chuck Todd said on Meet the Press today that "I have it on good authority that the choice won't be during the Olympics or at the convention." That would mean an Obama choice in the next two weeks.

49. The longer he waits, the more likely it will be Clinton. Especially if he waits till the convention
If he chooses anyone else, at least part of the convention coverage is guaranteed to be about unhappiness among Clinton supporters.

And the closer to the convention he announces any choice besides Clinton, the more obvious that unhappiness is likely to be.
