1. Obama is a good poker player...
Nobody knows what he's holding right now. Not Maliki and not George W Bush. He'll let them put their cards on the table before he shows. :-)

4. No kidding
It wouldn't be surprising if Maliki had an "accident" courtesy of Bush/Cheney Co. How dare someone disobey them!

12. Of course they found an article saying Maliki was misquoted:
Edited on Sat Jul-19-08 11:22 PM by jenmito
"Iraqi PM disputes report on withdrawal plan..."But a spokesman for al-Maliki said his remarks "were misunderstood, mistranslated and not conveyed accurately."

Government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said the possibility of troop withdrawal was based on the continuance of security improvements, echoing statements that the White House made Friday after a meeting between al-Maliki and U.S. President Bush.

In the magazine interview, Al-Maliki said his remarks did not indicate that he was endorsing Obama over presumptive Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain.

"Who they choose as their president is the Americans' business. But it's the business of Iraqis to say what they want. And that's where the people and the government are in general agreement: The tenure of the coalition troops in Iraq should be limited," he said.

"Those who operate on the premise of short time periods in Iraq today are being more realistic," al-Maliki said.

Who didn't see THAT coming? :eyes: A "spokesman" said Maliki was misquoted and misunderstood, but then his own words STILL back up Obama's position!

9. This is the third embarassing story to McCain in a row I've seen reported by Fox
Maybe even Murdoch is starting to see the light. You have to be delusional to think that the Republican party has even a shred of credibility left on the world stage. Murdoch is a bastard, but he's not delusional. The Republican party is a sinking ship, and Fox is vulnerable as long as they are on it. I expect they moderate their rhetoric slowly but surely after this year's election (as long as it is still a blowout by Democrats).

Plus, it's no secret that the far-right still kind of hates McCain. I wouldn't be surprised if their support for him down the road is only half-assed. That's why they're all donating to the RNC instead of McCain. If this election ends up being a blowout, the RNC can focus on congressional races instead of a sure to lose McCain candidacy.
