Influx of Voters Expected to Test New Technology

By IAN URBINA
Published: July 21, 2008

With millions of new voters heading to the polls this November and many states introducing new voting technologies, election officials and voting monitors say they fear the combination is likely to create long lines, stressed-out poll workers and late tallies on Election Day.

At least 11 states will use new voting equipment as the nation shifts away from touch-screen machines and to the paper ballots of optical scanners, which will be used by more than 55 percent of voters.

About half of all voters will use machines unlike the ones they used in the last presidential election, experts say, and more than half of the states will use new statewide databases to verify voter registration.

With Senator Barack Obama’s candidacy expected to attract many people who have never have encountered a voting machine, voting experts and election officials say they are worried that the system may buckle under the increased strain.

2. They should provide videos of simulated voting online.
They should provide locations for voters to practice voting.

3. And you can bet your LAST dollar , that the location of all those new voters is known,
so watch for the big steal to be attempted, via:

1)..Ooops, we're outta paper ballots...come back later
2)..5K registered at a polling place & 3 machines (1 of which is broken)
3)..Polling places moved after the sample ballots are out..
4)..MANY people showing up in wrong areas, due to foreclosure-moves..

In every polling place that is in a republican area, or in a state with a republican SoS, you can expect more of the same, only on steroids this time around..
