Secretary Rice knows who she's voting for - but she's not telling.
Blitzer: "Now, you grew up in the segregated south. You know what racism is in our country. The fact that Barack Obama is now the Democratic presidential nominee, what does that say to you?"

Rice: "I think it's great. And I think it's great for our country. And I do think it says that we've come a long way. But it's interesting that it's from Colin Powell. He knocked down a few barriers of his own. He knocked down the barrier of chairman of the joint chiefs of staff. He knocked down the barrier to the first black secretary of state. Yes, I've knocked down a few too. It just shows that our country has been doing this for a while and it's great that this last barrier perhaps, has also come down."

Blitzer: "Have you decided who to vote for?"

Rice: "Wolf, yes."

Blitzer: "Do you want to tell us?'

Rice: "No."

Interesting to say the least.

2. Things that make you go "hmmmmm."
It was very telling. I suspect that when she floated her name as a possible VP a few months back, after McCain was assured the nomination, McCain shot it down.

Payback is a bitch, and in this case, it's named CondaSleaza.

3. She will vote for the crazy old white guy..
No doubt about it! She will vote for endless wars and slaughtering of innocent people, and corporate welfare.

That's just who she is. :silly:

4. She's profoundly unwise, and morally stunted . . .
But a long way from classic "stupid." I can't imagine her floating a trial balloon for veep.

I see her as more on the sado side of sado-masochism and would not expect her to subject herself to the rigors (and likely outcome) of such a campaign.

Also, like most Bushies, she's a coward.

15. Secretaries of State are supposed to be diplomats . . .
. . . and hence speak with care and wisdom. Nothing says they're supposed to be nonpartisan -- except to the extent that SoS's brief is largely international and most partisan wrangling is over domestic issues. Rice didn't express her preference, IMO, because she's drunk the Bushian secrecy Kool-Aid and no longer knows (or never did) how to express ungarnished facts.

That having been said, Rice has OK skills as a diplomat. Unfortunately, the policies she's been supporting (and apparently believes in) have been somewhere on the continuum from dumb as dirt to batshit insane.

A wicked and/or foolish leader always poses real job challenges to a diplomat. Being slavishly in love with the w/f leader just makes it more difficult.

11. HA! She's voting for Obama!
Why keep it a secret unless she's voting for the Democratic candidate?

12. Obviously NOT Obama. She just instructed the State Department to back off.
They are not to aid him while he's on his trip. The order was for both candidates, but McCain already made his trip (tricky!!)

13. Isn't that breaking some kind of law?
Isn't there a law in this country that dictates you HAVE to tell someone who you're voting for if asked?

Do I need the sarcasm smiley or not?
