No major Obama gaffes for them to play over and over. Mika, Willie and David Schuster. Joe is out probably working off the weekend bender.

1. Watching...
I'd like to see Rachel Maddow take over this time slot. Ship Joe to Fox.

8. Well, I was in Baltimore over the weekend, but mostly I've been at home right where I've always
been.

Between my summer cleaning of my office and bedroom and my laptop and internet problems, I haven't done any posting.

First week of August I'm off to Arkansas to see Dad.

7. Their over all analysis sucks. In they are incapable of doing it.
These people are entertainers. Not reporters. Andrea is supposed to be a reporter, but we all know what a high salary and access to power does to your integrity. David formerly of Fox News is slowly slipping back in to the right wing style of Fox. I blame MSNBC for that because I think he tried to be good they just beat that crap out of him.

I can't stand her lack of objectivity, but then again, why should I be surprised. Look who SHE shacks up with? :puke: :puke:

She must love him for his "beautiful mind"

6. LOL, guess that is why the scar didn't show. Would have been hard for him
to have a good morning with Barack's visit. Hey, doesn't Schuster seem a tilted a little more to Willie and Scarborough than he used to be? For those who keep up with these guys.

9. Great minds think a like. When Daivd came over from Fox he was attempting
to be an actual reporter. I think MSNBC good old boy attitude beat that out of him real quick.

10. Wondered if it was only me observing Shuster's shift.
Seems like since he was sidelined because of his nasty remarks during the primary, he's come back with a chip on his shoulder and definitely tilting toward the right. Kudos to you guys that are able to stomach Joey the Scar's morning puke fest -- thanks for the report.

17. You are right on the money, that is absolutely when he did a right turn. I especially
noticed in some interview he did a while back and was arguing with the Dem Strategist the way Scarborough does. He was doing Tweety's show I think and man he was not the Schuster I knew who was a little more fair and balanced.

29. Wow have to give Schuster credit. He is the only one that corrected everyone
and including Bill Press who did not say anything about the fact that when they are talking about the surge, they have to be fair about Barack saying the surge is not working and that the surge is actually two parts. The troop part where the violence has gone down but the political part that was supposed to be part of it has not occurred yet.

30. She does that all the time. She talks right over people, As you say, asks
a question, they start answering and she starts talking so she doesn't even listen. Also, she really has no knowledge, doesn't know what she is talking about which is probably the reason when a repuke answers a question wrong, there is no follow-up because she doesn't even know when she gets a wrong answer.

I used to think she had vestiges of critical thought facilities. Not anymore. Of course she's immersed in a toxic environment. Scabrough's dismissiveness of women is breathtaking.

33. Even the phrase "Obama gaffes" is kind of strange.
mccain is a veritable gaffe machine, the gift that keeps on giving. Obama rarely or never says anything that I would consider a "gaffe". Obama doesn't talk about Czechoslovakia in the present tense, nor does he confuse Shia and Sunni. He doesn't say no more troops for Afghanistan, then yes more troops, then yes but they should be NATO troops, all in one day.

There is simply no comparison between these two men. None at all.

In the beginning they played a clip of Obama on CBS yesterday. David accused Obama of being glib. That was it.

40. I didn't watch Morning Joe today...
Ok, I turned it on for a second, and then quickly turned it off. I really am trying to wean myself off that show, sometimes it was good for random funny moments, but it mostly ends up frustrating me.

Anyways, I just read a commenter's post the MSNBC first read blog, and they said that Andrea Mitchell was asked how Obama was being received by the troops, and she went off into a tangent about how "all of the footage they are being given to look at was shot by the military and not a journalist, so she cannot judge it." The fuck, did she really say that? The poster commented about how the Wright footage must have been good enough for her, even though that wasn't shot by a jouranlist. The poster then said that Andrea further avoided the question by lamenting about how the senators who are with Obama have been there MANY more times than he has, blah blah blah, the surge was a success, blah blah blah.

Mike Barnicle asked her a similar question the other day (what the troops thought of Obama) and she avoided the question again and said "Well, people probably have different opinions...but they REALLY believe in the mission and the SUCCESS that they have had, blah blah blah more surge propaganda." It's really funny how much she wants to avoid this question, and I doubt it is for reasons of journalistic integrity.
