How often does McCain talk over women reporters?
Watching him talk over Meredith Vierra I wondered if this is another example of his low opinion of women? Does he do this to men reporters as often as he did it to Vierra (more than once in the interview)? He had no problem hearing her as he could answer her when he finally stopped and let her speak. I felt his attitude toward her was demeaning. That could be because he considers her a liberal or it could be because she is a woman. Is this a pattern we should be watching?

2. I've known men like that all my life...
They'll pretend to listen to what a woman has to say, but they truly believe that they're the superior being.

3. Go back and find recordings of interviews with him after the last SOTU.
I swear he absolutely radiated paternalistic smiling contempt . . . something about Bush lifting whole sections of McCain's most recent stump speeches. He was soo pleased with himself, you could only describe his demeanor as barely disguised snide superiority. I'm sorry I can't remember the network, exactly, but it would probably have been MSNBC or CNN.

Contempt is his basic mode, maybe he feels he's safer showing it toward Women.

4. I listened in the car and was shocked by his rudeness to Meredith-
I assumed that he must have had a script of his talking (yelling) points and he was afraid if he didn't get the entire sentences out as written, he'd loose his place and get all confused- especially if someone slammed him with a question he was not prepared to respond to. I wonder if the interviewers had to clear their questions beforehand as well. It was really disgusting to hear- must have been worse to watch it.

6. I don't think this interview
helped McCain at all.

At certain times he really really looked out of touch.
