Is this newspaper headline fair & balanced?
It is from this morning's Hartford Courant here in Connecticut.

Main page a1 headline:
OBAMA VISITS TRIGGERS DISCORD

the subheadline below that:
Statements about troop withdrawals draw rebuke

Now, if somebody had not been following the story too closely saw that headline, you would think that there were massive protests of his visit to Afghanistan and Iraq in those countries, and that he was rebuked by the leaders of these countries on troop withdrawal.

Am I being too sensitive here, or is this just egregious? This was page a1, and above the fold, so it greeted anybody buying the paper at a newsstand or a machine.

1. The only 'rebuke' I'm hearing is from the wh, Rice, and McGaffe.
I think it's misleading, and also think it's intentional.

2. Isn't Connecticul Liebermann country?
So I'd guess the Hartford Courant is a Republican rag. Or a DINO rag.

5. The Courant has traditionally endorsed Republicans for president
It made national news when they endorsed Clinton in '92 or '96 because it was the first or second time in their history that they had not endorsed a Republican since the founding of the party.

Below president, they're a fairly mixed bag - they endorsed Dem John DiStefano for governor in 2006 over wildly popular Republican Jodi Rell.

4. The rebukes are the clowns who were lining up before the visit with their talking
points already penned and ready to go.
