Now CNN is saying that Obama made his first mistake
Edited on Mon Jul-21-08 10:25 PM by my3boyz
of his trip. They said he released a statement that makes it seems like he is trying to negotiate US policy when that is the job of the president. Why do I watch this shit? Ughhhhhhhhhhh... Oh and it was David Gergen and another panelist that said that on Anderson's show.

1. He should not have repeated what the Iraqi government is saying
He should have pretended that they didn't say anything, in fact. :sarcasm:

5. These morons do realize that the comments of Iraqi gov spokesman is on Youtube?
The Iraqi spokesman was very clear about the timetable. He said that it had nothing to do with the elections in US but that this was an Iraqi timetable and they would want the US troops out by 2010.

4. Let's see I am not sure I have said it tonight
"Fuck the MSM"!!

They bellyache and preach because he supposedly doesn't have experience so he goes and he has respectable conversations and it's not his fault that the Current Administration looks inadequate. Boo...fucking....hoo..

The fact that Obama can actually hold a conversation with foreign leaders because the bar has been set soooooooooooooooooo low....makes him appear, "Well Presidential"!! Oh Well...

Hell Obama could be a 2nd year college student and appear more presidential.....Good Grief the media is trying to control this election...Screw them.

the U.S. and the whole world can respect.

8. CNN was reporting all day how biased media coverage is against McCain.
So you can now expect nonsense to be thrown at Obama. I wish for once they'd do their job as journalists...make sure that they are both covered well, represented honestly and let the public choose.

10. Yep, they were
I think that was bullshit. McCain has made several faux pas, and they're ignored; if Obama made the same verbal goofs, they would be the highlight of the news.

11. That's the problem. They think they actually have to prop up McCain to be fair and balanced.
The high coverage of Obama, it turns out, is because people are excited about him and he sells. The media has NO obligation to prop up McCain by fucking promoting him, their entire obligation to fairness is just to represent him honestly when they do represent him, and inform the public. I wish they could figure that out.

12. And in all their coverage this evening
They simply talked about the media ignoring McCain't, rather than devoting any airtime to actually covering him. Curious...

13. If they actually covered McCain't instead of covering the story of his not being covered
it wouldn't be too pretty. McCain seems to make a gaffe a minute on the campaign trail, such as his mistake today about Pakistan and Iraq sharing a common border.

14. Good point
If a little bit of attention is actually brought to bear on him, his acolytes might regret their whining.

15. No they don't think that at all.
They think that in order to remain employed they have to carry water for the Republican Party. To do that, they read the RNC daily and weekly talking point memos and work them into every 'news' broadcast. This week, a talking point is that the media favors Obama, which is brilliant actually, as is the Obama flip flop talking point, in that it takes an obvious fact (the media is bending over backwards to favor McCain, McCain has reversed positions on dozens of major policy issues) about their guy and attacks Obama with it, absent any particular factual basis, but leaving Obama with the prospect of responding in what appears to be a 'no I'm not, you are' mode.
