Get the impression that some of the media who are so hooked up right
now with the DC establishment are just trying to avoid the day when they have to try to cultivate cocktail party invites from a new administration which may not play that way? Some of the pols who are leaving DC now have been their for a very long time. On a social level, this means restructuring a longstanding pecking order. Sometimes I think it is as basic as this. I'm excited about the prospect that this new election will bring to DC a group which can only be dealt with on the terms they set. Let's get some of the great unwashed out here in offices in Congress to help Obama tear down some dead wood.

1. I'm convinced that's why Mrs. Greenslag is pushing back so hard on Obama
She's afraid of losing all those dinner party invitations!

2. all those years of sucking up to McCain, and it might not pay off.
I have a sense that McCain's perspective (that Obama's a line-cutter) is a lot like some of these "journalist"s - "No Fair! It was my turn! I invested a lot of time into this!"

If Obama wins, they might be afraid they don't get an invitation to one of John McCain's BBQs.

The sight of the media selling themselves out to McSame just reveals the gross hypocrisy of both McSame and the media.
