Not enough phones in Richmond Va. |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-22-08 08:32 PM by underpants
I got a call today from someone in the Obama campaign. He had gotten my name from the woman who was working the front desk the day that I went and volunteered. She was there the next day when my wife and I took wishlist items (coffee, clorox wipes, paper towels etc) to the coordinated campaign headquarters.
I had told her about the phone bank my wife and I ran the last 4 days of the 2004 campaign (about 30K calls). It was used again in 2006. This is a Fire Fighters' union related facility.
So he called me and I returned the call
"I understand you know of somewhere with an established phone bank, phone lines"
"Yeah". I said and told him the who what where and how that I knew along with contacts.
"Good" he said "we have so many people turning up that we just.. theres no way to get enough phone lines we need every line we can find"
I think this is a good sign.

9. The Bottom office is upstairs from the architecture firm |

where I used to work. Two of the principals are repukes (although the wife of one of them worked for a former VA State Senator (Repuke) who endorsed Obama), so you know that's pissing them off big time?! LOL!

that seems to be the new thing in phone banks. Some people I think aren't crazy about using up their minutes or giving their number to complete strangers.

10. Agreed, I did on a weekend for the Kerry campaign, but I wasn't wild about it |
|
When I worked for Obama in the primary our office had tons of pre-paid cell phones for phone banking. That was probably our biggest expense.
