ELECTION: OBAMA LEADS MCCAIN IN NEW JERSEY
If the presidential election were held today, Barack Obama would easily defeat John McCain in New Jersey. A new poll commissioned by Monmouth University shows Obama with a 50-36 percent lead over McCain in the Garden State. The state has 1.7 million democratic voters and one million republican voters. About eight percent of poll respondents believe that Obama is Muslim, which is incorrect. The telephone poll included 874 New Jersey voters.

1. Shit, I'd certainly hope so. If we can't take New Jersey . . .

New Jersey's a blue reliable for some time and it's reassuring to see these numbers.

6. Kerry and Bush were much closer in NJ. That is no longer the case. NJ is reliably BLUE!!
The Mid-Atlantic region: NY, NJ, DE, MD...all reliably BLUE!!! No need to worry...

8. Good to hear
I can remember a few times in '04 and at least one or two this year when NJ looked too close for comfort in the polls. Apparently a fair amount of NJans/ites/ers like to be perceived as "swing" voters to freak us out before eventually voting Democratic by a decent margin come the actual election! haha
