Did anyone else notice that Chris Matthews got
very old looking? I had not watched him for months. I turned on the tv on Monday and was shocked to see him looking about 10 years older. New yellow Hair do and a thin neck, including wrinkles around the eyes. What gives is he worried about Maddow???

1. Maybe the Russert thing got to him.
He does seem subdued since then.

7. I didn't realize he had diabetes.
I HATE this disease. Of all the sins of George Bush, one of his most insidious is his blocking of a cure for diabetes because of his stupid pigheadedness regarding stem cells. What a crock.

13. oh, that's too bad. He can drive me nuts but has his great moments
once in a while.

Maybe Russert's death has made him lose weight seriously.

5. yep, and hospitalized for complications not long ago
has since lost weight, probably under doctors' orders.

But, current events have taken a toll on all of us, so Chris ain't the only one looking old and worried.

14. Gaining weight is a sign of diabetes.
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 10:21 AM by Clark2008
Very few people lose weight when they have diabetes unless they have their meds adjusted.

My mother's diabetic and, as I've just discovered, am borderline. I eat extremely healthy and exercise and can't lose weight. I have some insulin issues going on which is causing weight gain.

So, while the doctor can "order" you to lose weight - sometimes you simply cannot if you have diabetes.

17. Would be reasonable to assume, after a serious hospital visit, he had medical help
Yes, I know the problems faced by diabetics. But he was pretty sick and I will assume he gets decent care. ;)
