Obama Camp: Does McCain consider leaving Iraq to a sovereign government "losing" ?

http://thehill.com/campaign-2008/obama-camp-says-attack-beneath-mccain-2008-07-23.html

<snip>

In an internal memo containing talking points for surrogates, the Obama campaign says “these kinds of petty, personal accusations are beneath Sen. McCain.”

The talking points, obtained by The Hill, continued: “They ignore the seriousness of the debate that the American people want to have in this election.

“It’s hard to see how leaving Iraq to a sovereign government that is taking responsibility for its future while we finish the fight in Afghanistan is ‘losing,’ ” the memo reads.

2. It's more than that, it's a strategic permanent foothold in the Middle East--
oil is a part of it, but so is a big regional presence--that's what they're after. They want Iraq weak enough to consent to allowing us a permanent presence there--that's why the massive embassy.

Iraq is McCain's only issue. Without that, he has nothing to talk about. He's wrong on every social issue including the environment and energy.

3. That's the best rebuttal to the 'losing' argument I've heard to date.
If leaving Iraq to govern take care of it's own affairs is 'losing' then what is the definition of winning?

6. Turning it into a parking lot and confiscating all the oil.
If anything is still alive then it's not "Mission Accomplished."

4. Barack continues to own the field and write the script. Excellent.
It sure feels good to hear a smart, informed person write the script based on truth, for a change.
