Jindal says NO to the losing veep spot, joining everyone else.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said Wednesday he will not run for vice president on the GOP ticket, making him among a growing number of those pulling themselves out of the race.

Jindal’s comments come as speculation is swirling that John McCain might announce his running mate choice imminently, as a way to draw attention away from Barack Obama’s high-profile overseas trip.

The Louisiana governor told “FOX & Friends” that he’d be “surprised” if the McCain campaign came down with a decision this week. And he threw water on the buzz about his own chances.

“Let me be clear: I have said in every private and public conversation, I’ve got the job that I want. And I’ll say again on air: I’m not going to be the vice presidential nominee or vice president. I’m going to help Senator McCain get elected, as governor of Louisiana,” Jindal said.

2. Hey, John, I'll take the job if you pay me.
I could use a good temp job, part time. I need to be free in December, but that's not a problem, is it?

3. I don't blame him. Why waste your chance on that self-destructive campaign?
Perhaps there is some basic intelligence in the GOP after all, at least when the goal is self-perseverance, that is.

12. Maybe Charlie Crist also, since he very suddenly got engaged to a woman
Even though he's been rumored to be gay.

7. They all say that they are not interested.
But when it comes right down to it most of them will not refuse the offer if it's given to them. But having said that, I don't think that he will choose Jindal. I think he might pull a surprise and select either Elizabeth Dole or Kay Bailey Hutchison in an attempt to attract disaffected Clinton supporters.

8. Will really be dumb by McCain to select such a young man
who, standing next to him, will just highlight how old and tired and haggard McCain looks.

Many who will be voting for McCain will because they do want a white man in the White House, so why "spoil" the ticket?

Get Trent Lott and get it over with.

10. Jindal is only about 36 years old and supposedly a rising star
and will not commit political suicide by tying himself to McCadaver

14. Weird. MSNBC is still making like Jindal is still in there.
Oh well. Hitch your wagon to an anvil, bobby.

Besides, and I really do hate to say this for his sake, but I would think considering the rampant racism among the bad guys, they'd look at his dark skin and go have themselves a nice apoplexy.

At any rate...

that McCain will bow out due to "health reasons" and Romney will be the candidate. That was the way it was supposed to go down in the first place.

19. Romney or Pawlenty
McCain will pick one of the two and I don't think either is a particularly good choice. Romeny hurts McCain with the evangelicals plus he's too willing to do things for political expediency. Pawlenty doesn't actually add much at all and will only highlight McCain's age.

They've been trending blue in recent years, and I'd hate to see them teeter back to red.
