Obama: World must prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapon
"A nuclear Iran would pose a grave threat and the world must prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon," US Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama said Wednesday while visiting the rocket-stricken town of Sderot. He added that a nuclear Iran "would be a game-changing situation."

"Today I had a series of productive discussions with many of Israel's key leaders about how to address the broad range of threats that Israel faces, and the broad threats that all of us face."

He said he would consider meeting with any world leader under conditions that could promote US interests, while charging that the Bush administration took diplomacy off the table. "It's not surprising that we did not make much progress," he said.

Obama endorsed Israel's right to defend itself against rockets. "If someone were sending rockets into my house where my two daughters sleep at night, I would do anything to stop it."
