Questions about Ageism and if we are being unfair to McCain.

It's a fact of life that as you get on in years, some of your capacities get diminished so for this one reason alone I think it's okay to bring up McCains age.

If some don't agree, I want to ask whether they would support a 9 year old to run for office.

2. Not being unfair. Age is a completely valid issue.

My parents say he's too old - they know what they're talking about. The body and mind slow down. They can't imagine being his age and being able to handle the demands of the presidency.

I just think you'd have to look at both ends of the age spectrum and then makes more sense.

And I can tell you that some of his mental capacity has declined.
That is a simple fact of life.

Add to that the physical demands of the job and the fact that a 2 term
McCain would be 80!!! years old-no way would I vote for anybody that old
to run the country (leaving politics aside - I wouldn't vote for McCain if
he were 52.)

15. It's not about his age, but rather the fact that he is incompetent

as evidenced by his numerous gaffes, his obvious lack of command of basic facts, his infamous volcanic temperament. I can think of another guy with the same problems and he isn't old- George W. Bush.

The REASON for McCain's incompetency doesn't matter, because just like Bush, he lacks the intelligence, skills and temperament to be a good president.

He made gaffes on foreign policy like referring to Czechoslovakia during his 2000 campaign. Even an idiot like Bush was able to use McCain's gaffes against him.
