2. Dolly is impacting southern TX right? Cancelled because of Oil Spill in NO!
Edited on Wed Jul-23-08 04:02 PM by dmordue
Not a great time to talk about off shore drilling in NO, get your picture taken to remind everyone you are in bed with oil executives and Dolly may remind some of McCain and Bush having a birthday party during Katrina.

Dolly is no where near NO: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=115x163872

4. Really? I guess I got that wrong. It said "weather" was the reason.
So I assumed it was Dolly.

6. I think you got it right - I think McCain is lying about his reasoning...
Big oil spill in NO and getting your picture taken in a way that makes you look like your in bed with oil companies is also probably not a great idea.

18. He should be so lucky
Bush Jr. was an idiot and half the country voted for him twice. He had money and ruthless operatives. McCain has neither.

It will be interesting to see if the RNC helps him out or just throws up their hands in dispair. The RNC is sitting on 200 million dollars. If McCain continues to be such a loser then the RNC may bail on him and give their money to tight Senate races.

12. What kind of counter is that anyway?
Why would he want to be photographed on an oil rig instead of with Americans suffering our shit economy? We all know that new offshore drilling isn't going to help us for a decade, John. This is just another ploy to put more money in the hands of Big Oil. You aren't fooling ANYBODY!

This is absolutely ridiculous. I'm now convinced that his campaign is being run by 6th graders for a class project. It's mind-blowing to think that actual professionals could be responsible for this mess.

22. It's the curse of the Republicans. It has done GWB in, and now
it is attaching itself to McCain. Evil is thus thwarted by the gods. (Just joking, but what other explanation is there for everything going wrong with these guys. Oh -- Incompetence, you say? Hmmmmmmm.)

As a public service, we should forward McElmerFudd some really nice post-Katrina Gulf of Mexico photos so he can see there is nothing to fear. :sarcasm:

17. Sunny skies for Obama; McCain, not so much.
In the category of if he didn't have bad luck, he'd have no luck at all: John McCain, to counter Barack Obama's speech before the adoring masses in Berlin on Thursday, planned to fly out to an oil rig off the Louisiana coast to make the case for offshore drilling.

But now, the Politico website reports, Hurricane Dolly has forced McCain to scrub the event, and instead hold yet another town hall meeting in Ohio.

The weather forecast for Berlin: partly sunny skies and a nice day in the low 80s.
