Berlin a flash forward of the Obamalympics and the end of Bush Cowboy Diplomacy

Today's historic speech in Berlin is a flash forward to Obamalympics and the official end of Bush Cowboy Olympics

Even the Cowboy in Chief has admitted defeat by talking not only to the North Koreans but starting last Saturday with high level contacts with the Iranians. The administration refused to deny reports in the Guardian that within a month a full time diplomatic presence (still short of a consulate) will be established soon in Tehran.

As talking increased the speculative price of oil started a fall and has declined by $ 20. per barrel. When an American diplomat arrives in Tehran another $ 20 will fall off immediately. And no, silly little John McCain, speculators could not care less about off shore announcements from the White House for three reasons 1) Doesn't mean anything unless states agree 2) There are no rigs available for years as a massive discovery in Brazil has backlogged 45 rigs for the next 5 years of rig production and 3) massive discoveries in off shore Brazil will come online much faster and have much more effect.

Eliminating sabre rattling will bring down oil prices and already has.

Berlin as prevue for Peking

Just as "Easy Rider" fastforward its tragic end the Berlin speech is a "flash forward". In two weeks young Americans will be engaging with the best from around the world and will be winning medals and making friends. There will be heartwarming stories and Americans will fall in love with some engaging atheletes from other countries. Being strong and international will be hip again. And the media will be all in favor of it as it helps them sell commercials. Its easier to be friends with people if you buy all this great stuff.

All of a sudden it will remind us that we like being liked and that other people do like us, going alone in a white hat is pretty stupid and the Bush legacy is an embarassment.

And seeing young strong athletes doing well in a competitive arena, making friends and bringing the world closer will remind people that we have a politician that is also young strong and a winner.

The event in Berlin was a preview of a message of a strong young America ready to compete and make friends in the world again.

And if people have a hard time remembering where they saw that plot line before the Obama campaign will be happy to remind them. The campaign just bought a $ 5,000,000 package for advertisements during the Olympics. (I am guessing that with a $ 5 million ad buy that means that they intend to unveil the Vice President Nominee before the Olympics and ride that bounce all through the Olympics.)

God are these people are smart.

2. $5 million for Olympics ads?!
Ya gotta love that. They're not just creating waves of interest, they're creating tidal waves.

3. I am guessing that they will announce their VP before that so that they
can show the images of the teamwork all through the Olympics.

Are you ready Governor Kaine?

4. That would be a good plan.
At this point, I also think it'll be Kaine for VP. That's O.K. with me!
