MSM Fun! Instant Fame With Big Media! Become A PUMA!
Edited on Fri Jul-25-08 11:57 AM by Median Democrat
I am starting to wonder. Is the MSM simply repeating the same story again and again or are they actually interviewing and re-interviewing the same two now famous former Clinton Supporters who will vote for John McCain. Hillary Clinton Big Money supporters, Lynn Forester de Rothschild and Amy Siskind (who is not even listed as a Hillary Clinton donor on FEC.gov) are repeatedly cited by the MSM whenever they decide to do a PUMA angle. The stories always generically refer to "Hillary supporters," yet only these two individuals are cited. Occasionally, Big Media might cite some random individual claiming to be a Clinton supporter, but often this randon individual has no record of contributions to Hillary Clinton. Google both of them, and you will see how many times they are cited for a cheap quote, and often times they are the only "Hillary Supporters" referenced.

I guess if you want instant fame, you can contribute $201 to Hillary Clinton to achieve big donor status in the mind of the MSM. Then say you will vote for McCain, and the major players will then interview you again and again and again. If there are two of you, even better, because they can then use the plural, "Hillary Clinton supporters."

My point in posting this is not to bash Hillary, who I think would have been fine president, but to point out the deception or laziness of the MSM. Either they are simply recycling an old story or the MSM is simply interviewing the same two alleged Hillary supporters again and again.

"Siskind of Westchester, N.Y., is a Clinton supporter who said she wouldn't vote for Obama. Siskind said she was especially offended when Obama hired Clinton's former campaign manager, Patti Solis Doyle, to work with his vice presidential nominee. Given that Solis Doyle was demoted by Clinton, the appointment was perceived by Clinton loyalists as a slight.

"Most folks feel that the battle is over and he's the winner, but he's really acted like a sore winner," Siskind said. "If Hillary had been the nominee, you would have seen a much more deferential approach to Obama supporters."

Lynn Forester de Rothschild, a Clinton fundraiser who lives in New York City, said, "What I think is very important is that he has a problem with his image. He is an aloof candidate. He does not connect with people. He has words, but no ordinary person thinks that he is there for them, and women feel that intensely."

1. Partly lazy, partly they have no time to...
do any real digging on a sidebar story.

Yeah, two publicity-seeking hags don't make a movement and I suspect we'll be seeing less of this PUMA bullshit as the campaign moves on and there are more intersting things to cover.

4. I Read It In Today's LA Times and Noticed The Names Sounded Familiar
So, I google them, and remember where I saw the two. I had previously looked both of them up on FEC.gov, and only Rothchild was reported to have actually made a substantial contribution to Hillary, yet Amy Siskind has previously been described as a "Big money hillary supporter."

Shoot, maybe I should become a journalist and report on the electin. Whenever I want to run a cheap story, I just call Amy and Lynne, and I have an easy story fit for mass consumption. Even better, I could just simply re-paraphrase a prior interview of them, since they just say the same thing again and again.

A PUMA story could be newsworthy if there was something new, rather than just a couple of quotes attributed to the exact same two people again and again. Is journalism really that easy? If so, I chose the wrong field.

2. Im sick of these people.
Sick of their pissing and moaning. And I sure as hell dont think Lady de Rothschild should be speaking for "ordinary" people OR women. I'm so fucking sick of these assholes running around like tantrum throwing 2 year olds assigning their own twisted opinions to everybody else.

This ordinary woman supports Obama.

3. MSM gave all the airtime the swifts wanted while refusing airtime to Kerry when he refuted them
When swifts who had been given airtime to attack Kerry later recanted and claimed the organizers lied to them, they were refused the airtime to recant.

The fascists bought control of most news media in the 80s and 90s, and we are living with the consequences.

11. Exactly, Former Hillary Clinton Supporters Who Are Supporting Obama Are Ignored
Yup, Will Bower Is The Third Member, Also Came From No Where. Will Bower did not start blogging for Hillary until Hillary was losing in the delegate count. Also, even those various media outlets have also referred to him as a Hillary donor, there is no record of any contrubution by him to Hillary Clinton. (check fec.gov). Yet, despite these basic questions of why he did not become active until after Hillary fell behind in delegates, and why there is no record of any contributions by Will to Hillary, the MSM still repeatedly inverviews this guy along with Amy and Lady Rothchild.

The sad thing is that there are a legion of avid Hillary Clinton supporters who have put aside their past difference, and are now working to regain Democratic control of the presidency, are largely ignored by the MSM. Instead, the MSM continues to focus on these three individuals.

15. Interesting hobby.
There's a good story behind that shirt button, I betcha.

My lab as a puppy ate a pack of cigarettes, undigested filters in her poo gave it away.

:hi:

This is exactly what the MSM is doing. They need drama to fill their 24/7 format.
